I know his Brother passed away in the offseason , is this the reason why he isn't playing or practicing ? (which is totally understandable) or is there an injury?

It's been hinted at. Tomlin hasn't made it clear one way or the other. But that's to be expected, I guess.

If he's not injured, I'm not sure how this plays out well for us because his head isn't in it. If he IS injured, then it's something significant enough for Tomlin to hide it behind the trauma of losing his brother. I wish him the best. But this doesn't look good for the team.

I think most signs point to him having a tough time after losing his brother, which is certainly understandable. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a couple of reports that he was at practice/training camp doing some individual stuff, but I could be wrong on that.

Tomlins ( Day at recess ) ... " Any Veteran here, who is good, and who doesn't want to practice, raise your hand "...

" Ok...Just let me know when you do feel like it...K Thanks "

To add some perspective to this his brother didn't pass away from a long battle with illness or Covid-19 or anything but killed in a hit and run and taken suddenly. No one is ever prepared for a death in the family but that has to be a huge gut punch and open wound.

One of the reasons I wanted to move on from Tomlin. Same results every year so guess what we’ll do the same thing cause it’s working so great.
To many days off for guys who need the work.

Not sure what the reasoning for him not practicing, however whatever reason it is, it now starting to be a concern, not sure what kind of football shape he is in along with his conditioning. Starting to be an issue.

I am truly sorry for Stephon Tuitt's loss. This will sound incredibly insensitive. His loss is not a valid excuse for him not practicing. None of us know if that is the reason or not. But if it is, he needs to find a way past it and get back to work. We all experience loss. We all deal with it in different ways. You cant let that loss consume your life. It isn't good for Stephon as a person, or the Steelers.

And how long should he be allowed to grieve for exactly? A few more weeks? A whole season?

People in the real world lose loved ones and get back to it a lot sooner, and for a lot less money.

I am all for the Steelers org, being sensitive to Tuitt's situation. They have been. Eventually he is going to have move past this and get back on the field.

Well, I am sorry for his brother's passing. But if he is uninjured
he should be out competing like all other Americans who have lost a sibling.
We need production from week 1 not from week 5.

I would like to add to your quote, "Hey Antonio, I love your dances and taunting in the end zone after TD, great to watch and I don't mind the penalty we have to take on the kick off."

I tend to agree with that. I've only had deaths in my family where is was a relief they died after months of suffering. I can't imagine what it would feel like to have the cops knock on my door and say a dear one has died in an accident. Understand the grieving would be tough but I assume he is still getting a fat paycheck and needs to respect the Steelers.

I have known someone who lost a little child. Now that is a real mother f--cker!! He was never the same after it.

I to lost a Brother suddenly in a car accident quite a few years ago. He left a 5 month old son. So I can understand the mental part of what Tuiit is going through and still will. The wound never closes.

But as mentioned, the rumor mill is spinning that he has a nagging injury and hasn't practiced with the team, just doing individual drills. This is not a positive for the season start.

Not insensitive, I like probably everyone else on here have lost loved ones ( Dad, Mom, Close Friends, Relatives ) But, As far as my work...They gave you 3 days paid leave, and up to 5 days days total...

Again, It's gonna sound insensitive but...You HAD to suck it up,and move past it...And get back to work

Like you I lost both parents and even had a 3 year old grandson die from SIDS. I found for me anyway the best thing to do is get back to your normal routine as soon as possible. I think if I would have taken a long time off and dwell on the tragedy that I might have gone crazy.

It's probably not fair to decide how long Tuitt should grieve, if that's even the reason why he's not practicing. I'm more concerned with TJ Watt and his nonsense of a mini holdout when he has a $10 Million contract.

The really strange part in all that too Glenn is that he is in camp he is doing individual drills just not team drills. I'm assuming he is at meetings as well so the whole holdout is to avoid group settings where injuries can happen but heck he could trip over the concrete in the tunnel on the way to the locker room. Heck for that matter he could sign today become the top defender in the league and jump three feet in the air coming out the tunnel on opening day and blow out his knee

I get that there's a lot on the line for him, but why even sign that 5th year option only to pull this stunt.
What about JuJu/ I'm sure he wanted more than a 1 year deal. He might as well just sit out the year so he can get a better deal next year. There are a bunch of players on 1 year deals or the last year of their contract. What if all of them started acting like TJ?

It does say a lot about the unequal ground for guys on the team. Not to bash Tomlin but he does allow some strange things to happen. The off campus room for AB comes to mind.

It seems hard for me to believe, my employers have always wanted to see production/ results
and I have been paid a whole lot less than these millionaires.
