I don’t understand your disgust. The players and owners have agreed how to split the pie. The players get x% of the take. If you overpay one guy, you underpay another. It’s not the owners or players fault that that fan bases buy tickets, watch games and commercials on Tv, and buy merch. Fans hand the $ over willingly. I don’t know of a single case where a fan gave the NFL money while a gun was pointed at his head.

Just kinda disgusting that sports leagues make such obscene amounts of money. And then have the gall to turn around and say they can't pay for their own stadiums. I don't want to turn it into a political thing but it's tiring to keep seeing these contracts getting more and more astronomical that aren't even quarterbacks.

They won't have to pay a franchise QB 30 million or more though.

I know , but dang. How do You keep a team together like that. I know we most likely won't have a Qb 2 worry about, but that's almost like paying for 2 of them. LoL

The salary cap should be well over 200 million in 2022, as of now they won't have to pay big money to a WR, LT, RB, QB.

If a societal de-evolution would come there would be no more, let's face it, tribal gladiator sport? Is that the suggestion?

If a man equals peeing on a tree then I suppose the dog you mention is a human male also.

I think you're the only one that wants to "test gender," creep.

Anyhow, the contract issue is rough. The relative massive jump is really going to hurt the market. There will be a lot of "resetting" or borderline of, next year.

Best deal in sports is mahomes because they signed before the dip this year.

Minkah will absolutely reset because of the mentioned "boom" of cap space.

But again, why don’t owners build their own stadiums? They don’t have to. And very few politicians get voted out of office for using tax dollars to build them. In fact, you get voted out if you let a team leave town. I don’t like it either, but that’s how it goes.

I don't think we're supposed to talk about things that could be misinterpreted as politics, politics, or even say the word politics. Crap, trifecta. Sorry @HeinzMustard@HeinzMustard. :hehehe:

Why would you do that to us? I don't want to think about that! Not fair.

    But here goes.

Losing TJ makes one of the best pass rushes immediately drop to a good pass rush. I still think we can generate pressure, but not at the level or frequency we can with him. That also immediately puts pressure on the secondary to fill his void. They can't compensate for that loss.

Losing Minkah makes a below average, at best, secondary an easy target. It takes away our best chance at splash plays on the defense when the ball is in the air.

But without our pass rush, our secondary can't hold up, even with Minkah.

So keep TJ and let Minkah walk.

    Yuck

The Steelers do not usually give out 3rd contracts and if they do, it is usually on their terms. We have seen this play out often over the years.

If Ingram stayed it wouldn't drop off as much. Losing minkah leaves a huge void.

It will all work out in the end. If Ben doesn't come back, we will have an core of young, capable players on Offense who will be paid peanuts, relatively speaking. Colbert and Khan will reinvest that money on the D to lock up some key players.

True Mac but they are always pressed up against if not over the cap so these restructures have to happen to free up money.

It will be nice to have some breathing room next season projected 63 mill under the cap. Yea yea I don't see that figure standing pat, but, they will finally have some real breathing room and not to worry about restructures.
