I understand it is a bit of a long shot for sure. That said, Tomlin has neve shied away from SEC Talent in the past either through the draft or through trade; Minkah being the most recent. The question of course is what Jacksonville would want in return.

Why make the pick if that's not someone you want? That makes no sense! Of course with the new coach, I could see them wanting to move in a different direction, but that exchange makes no sense if you're saying they didn't want him just because they didn't clap.

The 2020 FO was the same FO that traded away Jalen Ramsey as Ramsey was not going to tow the company line there. Furthermore, keep in mind that Dave Caldwell is also responsible for drafting Fournette and not Waston; other major misses as well. Very seldom do the Kahn's interfere with the Scouting/Draft Process of the Jaguars (something I can respect). Them finding the right GM though, is another story.

 

Bizarre that the Jags are looking to trade him if true. Why? He was not a disaster by any means and had flashed his rd 1 talent at times in his rookie season. Even if the team were divided on draft night that still doesn’t make it make sense.

He should be a good acquisition by any team but I can’t see the Steelers trading away a first rounder again which is undoubtedly what it would take. It may make sense for a team who have their long term QB, Cardinals, Chiefs, Dallas etc

The Jags have paid most of his rookie deal so whoever gets him will have a premium talent for three years at a bargain rate plus the option to pick up the fifth year option

 

Lets see what we have in our own ranks, I think some will surprise.

 

I wish I knew what the team honestly thought of our in-house CBs. I am skeptical. I hear the praise for Pierre and Sutton, and that Haden wants an extension, and all that stuff... but I am really concerned about that position.

The OL might actually come together and, if the new offense works, could mean plenty of points scored. The front 7 on D looks good after the Jags trade (though the gross overpay for Bush could look really bad by season's end). I love Minkah. I still think Edmunds stinks no matter what AQL says.

Still... the Defense should be good so it really comes down to the CBs and, if we are weak there, I'd very much consider Henderson for a 1st. We're running out of picks for next year so, if not Ben, it might be Haskins or some other vet QB in 2022 anyway, which is fine. We may end this season with a pretty good roster all around and $ to spend.

 

Pass, I wouldn't give up a first round pick for him, there has to be something going on with him.

 

So I was reading about Schobert who also came from the Jags. Urban Meyer is apparently very picky who he wants on his roster and if he feels there's a player who doesn't fit his system, he's looking to dump.

 

The really strange thing about that is that I think it is a legit reason to wheel and deal your players as you are looking for ones that fit what you are trying to do. So why not say that? The jags Gm spinning some story about how hard the Steelers went after Schobert doesn't jive with the actual deal. Just some bs that potentially makes you look like less of a fool which in this case doesnt remotely do it.
