I like Tomlin, too, until his team has to prepare for a playoff game.

I have long since forgotten who it was, but one off season the Steelers cut the teams leader in tackles from the year before. It was because the other teams kept running right at him because all of his tackles were for gains.

Edmunds ain't the only disappointing 1st rounder. Bush looks like he's running in sand.

I'm telling myself he just needs to clear the mental hurdle of playing on that knee. Hopefully, a few preseason games will help with that.

If he still looks slow in Buffalo, then I'll be concerned.

Bush is gonna go down as a bust, Heard it here first...He hasn't been " good " since they drafted him, now his one " strength " his speed, is gone... Everyone thinks the Shoebert signing is due to Spillane...Stay tuned

I thought Bush had a decent rookie season, he was primed for a huge year last year until he got hurt.

I guess only question is will he ever be the same after the ACL????

There it is, He was " decent "..We moved up 10 spots in the FIRST round, for decent! He was terrible at covering TE's, and now with his" kinda off the grid bizzarro " attitude now...We shall see

After reading that, I might have to start not liking Bush (the player, not the...nevermind).

You are far from the first to jump to this conclusion. It is possible, but he was headed in the right direction before the injury last season and it's a bit much to judge his recovery based on a few plays in one preseason game.

6th rounder, Hell ya! But when if ever are the Coaches gonna start being held accountable...It seems we have 1st rounders, or All Pros at damn near every position on Defense...I expect more!

Not to be Bullied by The Stains 3rd string OL,At Home, With no HC or practice...In the Playoffs!!!!!!!

"Headed in the right direction" is the very best that could be said about him before the injury. And just because someone is headed in the right direction, doesn't mean they are starting from a good position. Bush was still learning the system, a step (or two) slow to react, and wreckless (not in a good way) before the injury. His speed masked his shortcummings to an extent, but he was far from a complete LB. Remove him for a the better part of a season to rehab, and he's not been able to work on his craft. And without his speed, he's not going to be able to get better based on reaction, closing speed, and natural, God-given ability. If he wasn't a bust before, he was on the cusp of it. With the injury, @Disco1981 is making a bet with house money.

If they trade Jordan Berry, maybe they can replace that 6th rounder??

Weird to me that Jax is making all these trades (CB CJ Henderson on the trading block supposedly too) at this point in time, seems they would have done this sooner.

You said he played poorly for them. Then when you get shown the stats, say he led a bad team in a defense designed for him to put up numbers. If you don't like the signing just say it and say why.

W Pittsburgh's defense terrible because a safety lead the team in tackles? Dude had 141 combined tackles that's almost double what Minka had and is double what Vince had his 84 solo tackles beats them!

Also, when was the last time an ILB started all 16 games for Pittsburgh? You don't want a guy that can tackle and cover TE's over the middle?

Dude is a clear upgrade and plays the pass better than Bush did even when healthy. The price may be higher than most would like, but he's not a ho-hum middle of the road player player by any stretch. He's solid to good and at times great.

Yeah, that's not something you see a new head coach do this late in the training camp, right before you start cut-downs.

The best thing about it was he was so fast when he made a mistake, he'd bust the play up anyway, because it screwed up the timing. It was the same with Shazier, even when he missed, he hade disrupted the play enough for the rest of the team to compensate.
