I would hate to see him go because I like him over some others and think he is under utilized but a player for player deal would make sense. I'd be looking at OL candidates first.

I remember thinking after that one pass to him last night that was 3 yards behind him....where the heck has he been all night?

In the slot, off the jump, sure. Good first move. He's quick. It happens. I'll do some research like you suggested, but until I see some proof, I don't buy it. I don't believe he's one of the top receivers in the league at sitting down in a zone with cushion, or planting a DB at his break and finding open space. AB was one of the top receivers doing that, might still be. DJ isn't on that level. Again, if there is something out there to prove me wrong, I'll accept it.

YAC? I'll give you that if you're heading down that path. He's slippery and elusive with the ball in his hands...as long as it stays in his hands.

I don’t know what to tell you man, he’s very good at it, he leads all receivers from his draft class with receptions, more than Metcalf. He’s not achieving that by not getting open.

Whatever. There’s to many good players in front of him. Somehow it’s mean old Tomlin’s fault.

Maybe Ben told Art he's considering retiring again...;)

I'm with Hack, get him on the field. He can block better than Ebron & the other receivers sans the man JuJu.

Yup. Don`t blame him one bit. If I were him, I would have asked last year. He definitely has some trade value too.

It's all about the Benjamins. He knows it's a contract year and he wants to be much more involved in an offense where he is basically a fourth option. The only way he gets significant playing time is to complain that he needs to see the field more. I'm not sure how this helps his cause. The Steelers probably won't trade him cause there is little return value. Any team that has interest via FA will be skeptical if they don't see much from him on the field or if he does perform well they may label him a locker room distraction. Both he and DJ had too many drops last season but DJ has more upside in my opinion.

Well they have 3 other receivers who are better than him, who are you taking off the field for him?

JW knows he won't put up good numbers as the 4th WR in his contract year, but they shouldn't trade him unless the right deal comes along.

So the question is what's the right deal? I would bite for a 3rd ... but I don't see anyone offering more than 5 of 6 at best

That does not work for me.

Player for player.... you are not getting a starting quality OL straight up... just more backups, which we already have

I think you might be able to get an ILB that could help.. but probably be either an underachiever or high salary guy they want to dump because of money

Best bet player for player might be a WR for WR.... like maybe an Equanimeous St. Brown for James Washington type

    What's your asking price?

    HACK

I like the roll Washington has, seems like every game he came up with a big play when they needed it.

From Washingtons perspective, he is in a contract year and wants to get paid and he won’t with that roll.

I could see the Saints possibly making a deal. They won't have Michael Thomas back for awhile. Washington could be a star on that team right away.

If any team offers a third we should jump on that in a heartbeat!

You’d think Washington never drops a pass reading some of theses posts. He had 4 drops on 60 targets. To put that in perspective, JuJu had 3 drops on 143 targets.

On the flip side, he makes catches in traffic. Something certain others don't do. He's just reliable when given the chance.

He may not have the ceiling those above him do. But his floor is higher. If we trade him, he's going to shine somewhere else. I'd rather keep the depth.

I am going to be so happy that we have such great depth at WR when we are razor thin at OL. I don't want to lose the guy but if he wants out, and we can get an OL, (which we can - don't let others fool you) then its a win-win. Sorry to keep reminding you all, but the game is won and lost at the LOS. But you're absolutely right, let's keep the 2nd round pedigree guy for depth instead of bolstering a position group that is a complete unknown.

I honestly would have been fine if JuJu signed elsewhere and JW became the #3. The cap money saved could have helped them where they have the most need.....o-line, secondary, ILB. I hate to see him go, because I like him and his attitude but, if there's a trade to be made that could potentially make the team better, then it needs to happen.

I was thinking about that, but did not know the numbers. Just knew he dropped a few. Still, I would imagine he will attract some teams interest.

Agreed you can’t give into a players demands unless you get a fair deal. 3rd would be great 4th minimally but if one of our top 3 get injured we will miss JW.

I am a big fan of JW. I think he’s clutch in key moments, and plays a physical brand of football. I can’t remember the game, but he had a great TD last season where he bulled his way through defenders inside the 5 yard line like a power back. All of that said, you can’t put him ahead of Claypool’s raw talent and how the defense needs to respect it, nor ahead of DJ’s great ability to separate. JW is a #2 or 3 receiver on a team that has slightly better #2 and 3 options. I’d rather keep him, but this is the time to listen to offers.
