I think he probably will be but doesn't necessarily warrant the invitation. He has done less with more talent than so many other coaches out there. In the end though they will look heavily at the streak of non losing seasons and determine him to be worthy. If he wins another Superbowl then he will be a lock for the HOF. However if when Ben retires he doesn't sniff the playoffs he will be delayed over several years in getting there.

Okay. There is more to coaching than playoff wins. Playoff wins play a big part but the success of a coach is dependant on how consistent they are. Now that I say that....

Bill Belichick has not done much without Brady now has he?! Look at his total record without him (including Cleveland) What about Sean Payton and Drew Brees?! One Super Bowl Appearance with some losing seasons afterwards?! Mike McCarthy even has shown that, without a HOF QB, he is average at best. In short?! Tomlin has outperformed every contemporary during his tenure minus that hooded man up in New England since 2007.

Side note: I have been far more critical of Tomlin these past three years than you would believe. That said, there is a difference in being a blind supporter of someone versus supporting said person based on their feats and accomplishments; me being the latter.

Belichick runs the tightest ship, game-plans exquisitely, and gets the most out of second-tier players. Without Brady, though, he’s 42-54 with one playoff win.

Did Cowher deserve it? Tomlin has come close to matching Bill's defenses but Ben hasn't wanted to win one for Popcorn lately.

Cowher only won 1 SB, and he got in, he also had a losing record in the playoffs until that playoff run in 2005.

Cowher had a better playoff record. Popcorn is at .500 for post season.

I don't see Popcorn running the table as a 6 seed like Cowher did in '05.

He doesn't have to win all the playoff wins in one year to improve his record .

Cowher also has more losing seasons than Tomlin as well. To get to the playoffs, having a winning record is key and never mind winning the division. Cowher is actually also apart of what is widely reputed to be the greatest playoff failure in Steelers History.

Glad you agree then on the whole scope of coaching. Now, if you can let your bias against Tomlin go, that would be all the better.

When Tomlin wins a Super Bowl with Tomlin's players...I'll be convinced. :lolol:

Noll's players were long retired by the time Cowher won SBXL. :smiley1:

Tomlin has had a franchise QB for his entire tenure. 2019 was impressive considering Rudolph got knocked out and Duck faded during the last 3 games. The jury is still out on Tomlin. I hope the best for him, but in my humble opinion...I think the Steelers can do better.

With that said...I hope this is a 2003 moment. I wanted Cowher gone at that time and then the '04 draft happened and changed everything. Maybe Najee Harris is the second coming of Terrell Davis/Franco Harris and the "Kwisatz Haderach" (Dune reference)...that will get the Steelers back to the Super Bowl.

This discussion is a waste of time. Tomlin can't win without Roethlisberger, but he has proven he can lose with him. I am hoping Canada is an Xs and Os genius, because that is what Tomlin needs to be successful. Tomlin's recent track record of how his teams finish seasons is weak.
