Again, not either's fault... or more specifically Shannon's. Blame Jerry Jones for that. The Cowboys coverage is by its worth; the most sports valuable franchise in the world. Fox Sports definitely would not want to miss the amount of money they would get from "America's Team".

Just noticed Denucci's helmet has air holes in it. Is there a new helmet option for players this year?

STEELERS WIN over the Cowboys, Hall-of-Fame preseason game, regular season, or Super Bowl, always sweet to win over them, and they do it on the Dallas Cowboys Network :herewego!::herewego::towel::yeehaw::steelflag:

    Overall....

Defense - gave up a lot of chunk plays throughout the game but all the OLBs had good pressure from the Highsmith-Marsh pairing to the Jones-Roche pairing. Best position group tonight imo.

Offense - still some troubles early on catching the ball I thought, even DJ18 still double-catching. Snell losing footing to both McFarland and Ballage who looked good. Tough to gather much of anything else

Again everyone, Jerry Jones is to blame for FOX Sports immense coverage of the Cowboys and never mind the ENTIRE Sports Media as a whole. Jerry has clearly shown that he cares more about the comma than the Lombardi. If anything, he can have those commas!

If that means more heart break for the Cowboys as opposed to a Championship Chase... all the better.

The whole conversation this off season has been improving the Run game.

4th and 1 you roll out with a QB that maybe throws one pass per season.

Tell the League Steeler football is back with a slam up the middle!

I think Skip Bayliss' long media relationship with the Cowboys is the engine powering that narrative

    Takeaways from this game:

    1. It looks like our new punter is a weapon.

    2. Maybe we don`t need Rudolph.

    3. Our starting kicker`s job is safe.

I believe that actually is one of those new Xenith Helmets that have nano chips in them to collect data. Believed I saw that on a YouTube Commercial a while back. Not sure if the outer shell matches but the design is similar.

Yep, they can have all the attention they want. Shiny new stadiums and constant media attention do not translate to championships.

    Najee looked great.

All 3 QBs were......meh (Probably most impressed with Dobbs)

    Highsmith looked good.

    Harvin looked good

    What I liked from tonight:

Najee Harris - I thought he made the most playing behind a patch work line.
Pressley Harvin III - They need to send Jordan Berry packing.
    Jamir Jones
    Quincy Roche
    Kalen Ballage
    Dan Moore Jr.
    Kevin Rader
    Matthew Sexton

    What I didn't like:

    Sam Sloman
Mason Rudolph - He wasn't bad, he's just unremarkable for being here this long.
    Robert Spillane
    Zach Gentry
    DB play in general
    WR play in general

    Disagree.

Remember, Skip is merely a component. Jerry Jones is the engine, suspension and transmission of that marketing machine in Dallas. Whatever he says... goes... literally. I doubt Skip has any part in it even though he does know Jerry quite a bit.

Plenty of Cowboy "analysts" Fox could have picked from. Skip was just the clear cut favorite.

    Indeed.

For that matter, I am glad I am a Steelers fan as I can enjoy, both happily and knowingly, I have Ownership that is not tyrannical and does care about winning. Realistically, if Dan Rooney or even Art Rooney II so desired, he could have made the Steelers the same way as the Cowboys as I would imagine that, despite being a small market, how the Steelers play is very much marketable world wide. Neither chose not to. Why?

Successfully marketing a Sports Team is a fortune by its merits; accomplishments, feats and of course, championships are what drive marketing. That said, one critical component is essential, consistency. The Steelers have that in spades. The Cowboys have that in spades as well!!!..... for marketing anyway. :lolol:

Great to spend time on the message board with you guys again for some actual gameplay action.

Punter looks legit. I like what I saw from Highsmith, Ballage, and Sexton. Haskins is growing on me.

My likes are same as yours:

Pressley Harvin III --- has there ever been a better pre-season rookie-debut from a punter? WOW!

Jamir Jones --- I don't even know how we acquired this guy, but I thought he played really well along side Roche.

I thought Kendrick Green showed he belonged too.

I think Steelers need to take a step back and think hard about these QB back ups. Rudolph still has the same struggles he always had. Haskins looked better than Rudolph, but not much better. Then Dobbs seemed to move the ball really well and seemed to have command of the offense. I can envision a world where Dobbs is the #2, Haskins too.

Harris --- I wanted to see a big run from him tonight, but the line didn't do much for him I guess?

    3 Biggest losers tonight.

Layne, unless this guy is a Special Teams Ace why does he still have a job?
Spillane: Wow is this guy really going to be our starter?

And, Matt Canada's offense. With all the talk about how different it is going to bem, it looked like the same dink and dunk offense from last year during the 1st half with the starters in.

Rudolph was weak and Dobbs showed something.
    Haskens was not very good.
    Punter was impressive.
    Tomlin is still an idiot.
