check downs are not a bad thing if done properly. we used bell quite often in that role and it worked pretty well. getting the ball in your play makers hands is not a bad thing.

Can't wait to watch football again but I will be holding my breath hoping there are no significant injuries during these meaningless games.

 

I'm not thrilled with Mason but will be watching to see if he improves with Canada. Agree somewhat that he hasn't had the qb #1 treatment but this is Ben's team till he leaves.

 

I was a huge fan of his since his college days. I thought he was going to make the jump to the NFL and be Ben's replacement some day. I was stoked when we drafted him. But the bloom fell off that rose pretty quick. Maybe he shines in Canada's offense, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

what changed from when we used to do it? Dropped passes? O-Coordinator? RB? O-Line coaching? O-Line player ability? As I said, if done properly.

 

Why? He has no chance to make the team, it's doubtful he gets to the practice squad.

 

Just for his sake. He could always tell his grandkids that he played QB in an NFL game once.(Even if it is just a pre-season game). My wife went to Slippery Rock and so do my 2 grand daughters. I grew up less than 10 miles from there so I've always rooted for the Rock.

 

Looks like Freiermuth won't play due to a shoulder injury. I was looking forward to it.

Najee Harris is my main look see. With a patchwork offensive line (Are any of them not niked up?) I want to see him take charge. Then get him outta there.

Also what Mason will show. And then hyped Haskins.

I like watching these games to see if any of the UDA's stand out. Plus, it is a reasonable facsimile of NFL football even though the outcome is meaningless and the games usaally stink on ice.

 

I thought they were all playing for a job.

 

I`ll be watching for the decision making by the QB`s and if they throw accurate too.

Results don`t mean much in a game like this.
