1000 times this! Haven't even played the 2021 season yet. Rooney II can say whatever he wants.

First he has to stay healthy and not toss a myriad of picks. Keep the throw number at 35 and let Najee take the pressure off.

I still stand they best draft a franchise QB in the 1st round even if Ol Ben comes back.

Not reporting to CFL Toronto Argonauts, apparently. Supposedly its passport issues.

Well, that’s easy enough. I’m surprised every team doesn’t think of this.

As long as he can produce a winning season and nothing else, AR2 is onboard.

Good, I'm not a fan of a running QB like Lamar.

He's making half of what a lot of franchise QBs make in 2021, 14 million isn't much for a starting QB.

I think you and I are the biggest advocates that Ben is just wasting our time and the longer he hangs on the worse the following years will be.

My opinion: He is old, slow and it's going to be bad. Many posters would disagree with that statement. Should I be wrong I'll gladly take the abuse but if he sucks or is injured for the season I don't want to see every poster saying they knew it would happen.

Well obviously the Steelers haven't. Hopefully 2022 draft, 1st round.

And how many franchise quarterbacks will be available in the first round next year?

Win the Super Bowl and he’s back for sure. Gotta try and win 4, like Terry.

I think most members here are expecting the worst and hoping for the best. I think there are very few that expect him to be healthy the whole season.

Especially if they somehow manage to put together a season where they are picking high teens, low twenties. They'd almost certainly have to somehow engineer a trade where they can move up significantly. Ideally, Ben's last year should have been '19. They still have credibility as a threat to beat anyone as long as Ben is able to play. However, the credibility has been lowered considerably since '18. This team will keep trying to reload instead of rebuilding as long as Ben is here. I honestly think this is his last year as a Steeler no matter what. They have to get on with life without Ben.

I would put my money on the oline being rebuilt currently. Glad they didn't try to reload it for Ben.

I'm surprised You are saying this, but I agree.
Some crazy thing is going on that people think You just draft a Qb in the 1st round ...Bam ....Magic . Everything is fix. You got a franchise Qb.
Do I have 2 make a freaking list of the Qbs taken in the 1st round that are,
    1. Not playing anymore
    2. Are backups
    3. Are already on another team, because theirs didn't want them anymore
    4. We still have more 2 judge. Half of the Guys people think are great (the Young Qbs right now) will never win squat, and will be a backup, or out of the league in a few more years.

Just drafting a Qb in the 1st round ...no matter how high is not a magical trick, or Quick fix.

What Qb is Guaranteed being healthy the whole year.
Some like Dak....get payed big money ...just came off one injury, now before the season starts has another.
No Qb is Guaranteed not 2 be injured.
Hell Rogers has missed almost 2 whole season, or close 2 it with injuries.
    Just using examples.

Carson W. Who many thought was the second coming can't stay healthy. So....

I've argued the same thing. And like you, I could be proven wrong by the end of the season...and hope I am. But other than the prospect of his elbow being better after more time to rehab and his arm being fresher because he hasn't been throwing as much as last pre-season (so we've been told), what/how could he possibly improve on? Certainly not his knees. Certainly not past injuries. Certainly not age. On paper, he should be no better physically than last year, and last year, he wasn't physically able to run a dynamic offense. Miracles happen, but I can't see how he's going to be the Ben from 5 years ago. And the offense needs that to take pressure off of Najee or you're going to put a giant target on the rookie's chest.

You are correct but I was on the old board when Ben was taken and a lot of knowledgeable posters said we finally have our best QB since Terry and he had yet to play a down in the NFL. Ben was blessed with a good group of players around him in the early years.

Someone like Brady happens once in a lifetime. Simple luck for NE. I'm just hoping lightning strikes twice but I got a feeling Terry and Ben will be the two best I get to see in black and gold.

    I hope not.

I think Ben's current skill set will limit Canada's offense this year.

Besides the PreSeason games where Ben does not play; I look for Ben's lack of mobility to really handcuff Canada on the plays he wants to run.

I expect Ben to play better in 2021, he won't have to try and carry the load like he did in 2020.
