Way way too early Game plan against the Bills

10 or 12 games in Ben will be suffering from something. Hopefully he will be able to be the wily vet he should be & not have to carry the offense late in the season.

 

The guy with one (maybe two can't remember) losing season(s) in about two decades? What's he done doing?

 

The Steelers have had zero losing seasons during Ben's 17 years with the team. They have been 8-8 four times in his career.

 

If not Dobbs then someone who can change the pocket ..The point is its way to easy to prepare for a statue QB unless he is a pre snap Guru..The main point is it's Okay to play a little Chess and not be the we do what we do checkers thing every single time.Surprise is a huge element of Football and I think our Team could use some of that..

I am open to any and all outside the box thinking and I really believe the Dobbs thing could have worked for the playoff game and I also think it could work to start the season.. Not that I think he is a pro bowl QB just the different skill set could work against a Team prepared for something totally different.. Would it work week after week ? Probably not but maybe just maybe help us get a key win here and there?

 

True..But if he does why not use his skill set in some form or fashion ? I think of it like Mike T used to say everyone has a plan until they get hit..Not Coach T by the way..lol.. The point is all our opponents are expecting to attack us and to be attacked by us the same old way time after time a new wrinkle is a good way to attack their plan while changing our attack predictability as well..Surprise,Surprise,Surprise.. Even Gomer knows that can work in Football...

 

I think Ben has a losing record for at least a season (2019?) & maybe another one, not bad for a guy to busy to prepare.

 

Winning playoff games?

 

We've been over this. LoL. You can't say a Guy had a losing season he only played a few games in....especially if he was injured. If pulled and never allowed 2 play again I see your point , but if you got hurt and couldn't play different.
We've seen him start out with loses be4 yet still win enough for a winning season. So who's 2 say if He came back He wouldn't have a Winning season. That's why they don't rank season like that.

 

I see what you're saying. Ben played one game in 2019 that we lost to the Patriots. He started the next week against the Seahawks and left with a lead at halftime but never played again the rest of the year. So I guess you could say that he had a losing season at 0-1.

 

If Dobbs makes the team he won't be active as the 3rd string QB.

 

Ben has losing seasons no matter how you want to classify it. Ben could have gave away any game he didn't play in.

 

Or could have won.
That's why He still has no losing seasons.

And thats exactly what I disagree with .No need to keep him if you cant at least give the other Team something to think about.I would use him ,but at least they should get him a hat if they keep him..If not going to to that then by all means they should cut him and bring a younger cat on..

 

The new OC may very well want a mobile QB active? Steelers Depot eluded to the same thing a few weeks back..No confusion here the Team can dress as many QB'S as they desire and keeping Dobbs the only QB with a different skill set and not giving him a hat is a waste.. As stated above just cut him if they cant get him active..
