Burnett reminded me of the 2012 Suburban I test drove yesterday. At first glance it looked really nice, dealer said mechanically it all checked out. Then I got in and the drivers side door panel was busted, carpeting stained and faded, chips and rust spots.

Burnett looked great but the exterior hid a broken down player.

Anyone having ham for breakfast tomorrow to celebrate Jack Ham day? Or gravel for breakfast on Friday to celebrate Jack Lambert day? Not that Lambert could chew gravel with his missing front teeth.

Both don't agree with my stomach.
So I may eat some flapJacks instead.

Jack Ham! My all time favorite Steeler. I was 9 years old when I become a Steeler fan, and I wanted to be an NFL linebacker when I grew up. For whatever reason, Ham was the guy that I gravitated to as an idol more than Lambert (though I loved them all). I think it was because of the 1975 divisional playoff win vs. the Colts when he almost single handily destroyed the Colts offense with an int and 2 sacks, including a strip sack that Andy Russell returned for a TD. My Steeler fandom was in its infancy that season, and Ham’s dominance that day made a big impression.

    That Cool.
I wanted 2 Be Terry Bradshaw, but the Coachs allowed me 3 throws , and said step over there.
So I decided Safety, and some TE was what I really wanted 2 do.
    F... Qbs.

Jack Ham. What more is there to say about him that has not been said?! Still to this day the best Off Ball Outside Linebacker to do it by some.

Never saw him play live. Only have read and heard of his legendary feats. Glad though that the 1975 AFC Championship that aired on NFL Network years back gave me a small glimpse of what was an extraordinary career! :herewego!:

Lambert should have been #1 and Swann #2.

My favorite Lambert story: In his rookie season he tried to wipe a RB out and totally missed the tackle, flying by the guy. Pretty much made the announcers laugh their butts off about it. My brother-in-law said, "well, there is a wasted draft pick". To this day we ride him about it.

My favorite Lambert story is when he was practicing with the college all-stars before being drafted. The head coach for the all-stars was some big name, while Lambert's Kent St. coach was an assistant. The head coach said shorts and helmets for practice. Lambert's coach said, "you better go pads." The head coach didn't heed the wisdom. After Lambert drilled about three players, the team went pads the rest of the week. I tried to find the story online, but I am thinking it was in a Dan Rooney book.

No they wanted 16-5 for it and that busted door pull was a deal breaker for me. I don't expect perfection in a used car but for that kind of money I at least want something like the main door I'd be using to not be falling apart. I have an 05 Yukon as my back and forth to work vehicle that is nickel and dimming me to death but it's paid for. The last few days the temp has been in the 90's so during the hot sweaty drive home I had almost convinced myself to overlook the busted door panel and go get the newer Suburban. I called my dad and said I need you to talk me out of this.

I had an old pick up truck I had to dump $2-$3k on average into each year. I figured it was less than the depreciation and I knew what I had. Plus, it was like an old friend.
