The wife and I went to watch LVK play the Pens a few seasons ago. She wore her LVK Fleury jersey and I wore my Pens Fleury jersey. More than one local acted stupid outside PPG because she was wearing the "enemy" jersey. I'm like, "It's Fleury, shut up!"

"Oh, well, uh...still...wear the right team's jersey when you're in Pittsburgh."

So yeah, you're probably good with a Pens jersey.

Honestly, I can't think of anything more childish or pathetic for a grown adult to harass, throw things at, or physically attack another person at a sporting event because they're rooting for another team. There is no excuse that anyone that come up with that justifies it, or makes it ok. I've even seen people with kids harassed. It's truly classless, and criminal.

 

I’d just settle for fans of other teams to not be allowed to post in the Steelers section.

 

Stop by the great hall and see a super bowl trophy. Or 6. Don't expect chili on your spaghetti either.

 

I took a Bengals fan to the Steelers home game back in 89 or 90 at TRS and he couldn't believe it when I told him we had to leave a 7am for a 1pm game. He had never really seen tailgating prior to that game. Was amazed how the party was at about 10 in the morning. Long story short Stanley Wilson ran a 4th and 16 straight up the gut for 54 yards for the winning TD with seconds left on the clock when the Steelers were in prevent defense. He started celebrating with a group of Bengals fans and I left him in the stadium. He showed up at the car about 20 minutes later. The only words I spoke to him was get in and shut up!

The worst treatment of an away fan at Heinz Field was a Rats fan wearing a Ray Lewis jersey to the AFCCG. The crap that some Steelers fans were doing was simply pathetic.

Just enjoy the game and take in the sights. Don't be an idiot and you will be fine.

BTW - I had my buddies back the entire game until he started carrying on after the win and I told him you're on your own now. Times are a lot different now then they were back then.
