Should the Steelers trade for Chase Winovich?

Winovich started nine games in 2020.

 

I'm sure Ola wasn't interested in coming back to Pittsburgh after they declined his option, you can't compare the two situations, Vince is over 30 and almost done that's why he re-signed.

 

Yeah well you aren't getting a LT in a trade this time of the year.

 

Marsh started 3 games in 2018 and got 5.5 sacks with 7 tackles for loss. 38 tackles. 14 qb hits.
Voinovich in those 9 starts had 5.5 sacks with 6 tackles for loss. 48 tackles. 12 qb hits.

that's 3 times the starts with near the same output.

 

Only thing is ....If Ben gets murdered behind that line(I think the line maybe better than we think) what chance will Haskins, or Rudolph have behind it.

Marsh: 44.1
Winovich: 69.5

Marsh stinks.

 

How significant? We have starters and a pretty good rookie. He's going to play a few plays a game. When he played last year we had no inside linebackers playing. Sure he might have not looked that good in the one game he was thrown into this defense after being here a week. He's also had 5 forced fumbles in his career. That's exactly 5 more then our run stuffer vince.

 

winovich had 594 snaps. marsh had 150 on 3 teams last year. that 15 point difference isn't that great considering those numbers.

 

Winovich was a starter most of the season on a solid defense. Marsh was cut by two teams and only got playing time in Pittsburgh due to injury, and sucked when that playing time did come.

 

How do you know we have a "pretty good" rookie? We have a rookie 6th round pick who is a complete unknown as far as the NFL goes.

last time I checked 9 games is just over half of an NFL season.

 

After trading next years 4th for Loudermilk, Im not really interested in trading anything else for depth or ST players

I would rather go all in on a Xavier Howard typen guy than a middle round talent.

Myself...I would try to get Justin Huston, Malik Hooker, and Richard Sherman

If they going all in on Bens last year... go all in.... young guys who might turn into something is for 2022.. not 2021

this isn't all or nothing as some of you are hoping. they are building for the future while still having a franchise qb at the helm.
