Yeah, I hope somebody roasts ole' Marsh-mellow. I would prefer not to see him on the field other than for pre game warm-ups

We could've traded up a few spots and got him instead of Justin Layne. Think about that...

Why? They can tag TJ in 2022, if they don't agree on a long term deal.

Yes, all teams are just waiting for the Steelers to make an offer and they will happily hand over their draft picks.

Players don't like the tag. Sure we could lose him like bell with the tag. A contract is the way to go. Why chance losing your best player for a backup player. That's just stupid.

Good point. I got you. Makes sense.

Watt will handle the left side, we know that. Highsmith has a lot of ability, also. Winovich would be a good addition.

After sucking in Pittsburgh, a couple of stellar 4th quarter August performances against UPS drivers notwithstanding.

Hoping a 6th round rookie can "step up his game" is what fans do, not what teams hoping to compete for a championship do.

What's stupid is correlating the need for depth with the ability to sign your best player. Both can happen.

I think Roche will be a pleasant surprise. I was surprised that he fell so far. I believe in a regular year he wouldn't have.

Vrabel seems to like the Steeler linebacker program. Maybe he'll play him.

The Steelers signing a backup OLB has nothing to do with TJ getting a new deal .

When Ola got the chance to play in Pittsburgh he didn't produce, he's just not that good.

Hoping a 6th round pick can "step up his game" and be a capable backup is not asking to much.

Funny I am hoping our 7th round draft pick can "Step up his game" and be a great starter is that asking to much? It is the Punter position.

I don't think it's asking too much for a 6th round rookie to play 10-15 snaps a game.

I would think it would depend on how well you picked in that round. Only 60% of 6th round picks make their teams roster. It looks like its maybe a lot to ask just to get a helmet on game day. We could use the help that's for sure.

if they have to pay him it will. they have 7 million dollars right now. 2-3 million of that will be taken into the season. so that leaves 4-5million. do you think tj's contract will be covered with that? then add winovich. his salary is 1.099 for this year. that would leave 3-4 million for TJ. TJ is going to make 10 mil. this year. he's in line for 20 mil or more even if we made some room somewhere, he's going to cost a lot. CW would be more of a luxury that we just can't afford if they sign tj. then in a trade we lose a draft pick. we just used one on a guy that hasn't seen the field yet. why not wait and see. highsmith did well his rookie year. roche is a good player.

If they extend Watt before the season starts, most of the additional money is going to have to kick in in 2022, when the Steelers are projected to have plenty of cap room. Adding Winovich would in no way keep them from locking up Watt.

Player for player trade could work for both teams . James Washington for Winovich. NE is always looking for WR help. I can`t see Steelers giving JW a new contract next season.

Nope, they need the WR depth, what if they have a injury at the WR position?

They can make the money work if they want, they need to find a upgrade over Marsh.

Considering they don't have much depth at OLB, I'm confident Roche makes the team.
