This is just a silly storyline. What exactly are people unfairly pinning on Rudolph? He did play poorly much of the time in 2019. He isn't the only reason that season was a failure, but he certainly didn't help matters.

He was not a factor in 2020.

Rudolph played relatively well given the talent around him. JuJu was banged up, Conner & crew weren’t terribly productive. Not every QB does Mahomes #’s in year 2

I’m not buying Stewart as the 3rd best Steeler QB of all time. I know that NOD blew it on the biggest stage and wasn’t a QB that could carry a team on his shoulders, but he was a solid, steady QB who made few mistakes. Also, no love for Bobby Layne? Before my time, but he was a top-tier QB in the league in his era with 7 Pro Bowls (2 with the Steelers). Yeah the stats suck, but that’s the way the game was back then. I’m not Kordell hater, but I don’t buy him as the 3rd best in team history.

You don't have to buy it..... but statistically he is.... Ben, Bradshaw, Kordell

    Yards...3rd
    Record...3rd
    Tds...3rd
    Completions...3rd
    Attempts...3rd

If you add his 35 rushing and 5 receiving TD... he gets to 104 and he is still 3rd...34tds behind Bradshaw

Let that sink in... the 3rd best QB ... is still 70 TDs away from being #2

Would need 61 more W's to tie #2

I know I'm an old guy in the room.. but I'm telling you it's hard to find the FRANCHISE.

in the history of the Steelers.. they found 2.... what other teams do you think found more? Pats 2...Packers 3...49ers 2.... Dolphins 2....Raiders.. maybe 1? Chiefs 2 if you count Mahomes....So what team am I missing??? What team just keeps drafting these great QBS?

I'm not talking QB1...don't get me wrong.. you can win a Super Bowl with a QB1... but I'm talking about THE FRANCHISE

Meh, accumulated stats. Give me a big game and I'm picking Terry, Ben, Neil, Maddox, Layne, even Tomczak over Kordell.

Don't sell Dobbs short. He's a tremendous slouch.

That's all Kordell ever did in the playoffs, though. All QBs have bad playoff games if they're in enough of them.

I was really just being a wiseass to Ben. He’s been a great Steeler and we are lucky to have had him but he really could have done better in big games.

His best post season game was AFC Championship vs. Broncos after '05 season. Ben never could quite get back to that level in the post season.

Later in his career Ben became Brett Favre 2.0 in the playoffs, a turnover machine .

Is it too early to ask what the Steelers are going to do with all their free Cap space next year?

I know your playing, so I won't get into the crippling a team in a rebuild with a overpriced and aging Qb.

I'm a Buckeye, and have watched every play of their every game for decades now, as well as daily kept on top of much of the "goings-on" in that program during that same time. I say that to make these two points.

    1. During his time at OSU, Dwayne was lauded as not only a true team leader, but actually a top worker, consistently, on a regular basis. And with the absolute STUDS in that program each and every year doing the same thing, he wouldn't have been called those things if it weren't real. No, I wasn't there, but those who were don't just make these things up for anyone, no matter who it is.
    2. Not only have most of those in Washington said much the opposite of him during his two years there, but none other than Chase Young, his teammate there and at OSU, has mentioned the same criticisms about him during their one year together in Washington.

So something happened to Dwayne when he left OSU and went to Washington. I have no idea what it was, but something did. You don't have all of those people in both of those places say almost the exact opposite about you - consistently - unless both are true.

The good news is that he does have a past that shows he has it in him to be great. The bad news is that he now has things (habits, attitudes, whatever) that he's going to have to spend considerable amounts of his resources on to get rid of, and that's before he can start making real progress and improvement on his quarterback play.

He hasn't made it easy on himself.
