I hate to do it, but I feel like you gotta pencil in a loss to Raiders.

2-4. That Seattle game is ominous. Will it be one of those inspired home prime time efforts, or another fetid turd like in 2013 against the Bears?

I will say 4-2. It is what happens after that that concerns me.

I like that steelersrule6 is sure to post a disagree to anybody who posts a below .500 record. That's dedication.

3-3 slow start getting our offense installed and adapting to the big personnel losses on defense

    Lose to Buffalo
    Lose Raiders
    Win Bengals
    Lose Packers
    Win Broncos
    Win Seahawks

Our running game gets on track, and our offense becomes balanced and thus, actually effective? 4-2, maybe better.

We get the last 5 games version of the Steelers from last year? 1-5

I don't mean to sound pessimistic. This schedule is brutal from start to finish (the finish might be the toughest I can remember). It'll make or break this team. Steel is forged in fire. Bad steel will break. Good steel only gets stronger.

I hope every returning player has had how last season ended sticking in their craw all off-season. I hope they're ticked off. I hope they're chomping at the bit to shut all the people laughing at them up. I hope our offense plays above their abilities. I hope our defense continues to improve into an elite defense.

    I hope.

Largely agree. I think 4-2 is realistic with our very good (when healthy) defense and a healthy Ben to start the season. We won’t be setting the world on fire offensively with that O line, but it should be enough to get the job done when the rest of the pieces are in place. However, as the season goes on we will inevitably be relying more and more on the youngest guys and roster fringe players as better players miss time with injury. I think there are very few positions where we have depth players who aren’t a huge drop off from the starters, the exception being the O line - not because the depth players are so good, but because the starters are either mediocre or still developing. I see a solid start, and then a gradual fade as fatigue and injuries deplete the team on a week by week basis. The end of the season looks brutal on paper, and if those teams are healthy and haven’t developed their own problems, it’s going to be a rough stretch to close things out.

So sight unseen you thought he was an instant 16-game starter with only 3 penalties, why wouldn't that still be your position? What caused all of these center questions to creep into your mind after the draft?

Seems to me you are barking up the wrong tree. Maybe you should express that concern to the other person and not myself.:hmm:

I understand people are looking at the schedule and are worried but by the time we start the second half of schedule those teams could have major injuries or other problems.

A friend of mine took a look at the schedule and said last year the Steelers were a bad 12-4 team, this season they could be one of the best 6-11 teams ever. I told him that would mean we are in every game until the end and it would give ulcers to most the board members.

Don't be surprised when our offense out-performs the defense, riding Najee & Ben's posse. :hehehe:

Nice try. It is called PREDICTIONS... hence the signature title that states such. A guarantee even such as Najee Harris obtaining 1500 yards from scrimmage is no certainty as there are many factors that can hinder even that; injuries being primary suspect number one.
