They're saying Tomlin is most overrated coach possible ever. Fact or Fiction?

If Tomlin retires with a winning percentage close to what it is now, I think he gets in, FWIW he has the most wins among black head coaches.

I would think black and white would not and should not matter in HOF voting.

Perhaps not, but it will matter.

I'm saying don't dismiss that stat, Tony Dungy got in with 1 Super Bowl win, and less wins in his career.

MT is not HOF worthy as of right now, just my opinion.
Just like you probably won't see LC Greenwood, Dwight White , Hines Ward. Just not HOF .
and I loved those three players.

Dungy has 2 rings, one as a player.

Tony Dungy built 2 Super Bowl Champion teams... the '02 Bucs and the '06 Colts. Tomlin won a Super Bowl with Cowher's players.... like Gruden did with Dungy's players.

Wrong. Steelers went 10-6 in 2007... the season before they won the Super Bowl in '08.

Cowhers players that Tomlin inherited went 8-8.

The starting QB did a face plant into a windshield... so Cowher had a good excuse for going 8-8. Plus, Roethlisberger had an appendectomy right before the season. Ben never fully recovered that year. Obviously.

You are correct, but he didn't win a SB with both.
That's how they will look at it.
No matter how I feel about it. M.T. will get in unless his career takes a huge nose dive. All you have 2 do it go look at who has got in , who hasn't, and compare.
Like I said they don't go by what You , I , or anyone else thinks.
Otherwise I know a few HOF that wouldn't be in there, and a Few that aren't ...that would be.

Very misleading without context. Ben's accident and injuries played a huge part in them going 8-8 in 2006. That was an amazing roster that had incredible success the two years prior.

He also took over a team with very good, veteran assistant coaches.

Now it's an amazing roster. LoL.
Just a minute ago you argued it was comparable 2 our 2019 roster. On another post. LoL.
    Just F**k** with You:smiley1:

I was pointing out what Strummer was referring to, Heinz had the record wrong.

I’ve never bought into that Cowhers player argument, though. It suggests that SB rosters should win all the time when in fact the league is littered with examples of teams that have done poorly the year after a SB as well as never reaching the SB again, more common than not.

It also suggest you don’t need a coach as long as you have good players. That’s completely false.

How did I have the record wrong? Steelers went 8-8 in '06 and 10-6 in '07. Facts.

I'll re-phrase my response... Tomlin won a Super Bowl in 2008 because he had Cowher's players and Tom Brady blew out his ACL in the first game of the season.

    You’re a still not following.

The argument goes that Tomlin won with Cowhers players, well, Tomlin inherited an 8-8 team.

As Bill Parcells says, you are what your record says you are.

    Barry Switzer.

    Nuff said. ;)

(Obviously I'm being a little tongue in cheek here. But come on. Did he have anything to do with Dallas winning another SB? Or was that team just that good? Ok, more tongue in cheek: I see a similarity here too: he also was on the verge of losing the SB to a team that by rights he should have blown out. Sorry. I can't help myself.:roflmao:)
