Don’t think anyone can really dispute there was a tale of two tapes last season with Ben. He was awful after week 11 or whenever that Dallas game was. I think he had a good game the following week but then the wheels fell off and then that report surfaced about people inside the organization being really concerned about Bens knees and wouldn’t get better that season.

Question is how long will his knees hold up this season or his elbow or his shoulder.

Solution? Harvin from the Wildcat - a triple threat to run, pass or quick kick!

Well if Chris Simms says so, I'm sold.

He's actually been pretty nails on his pre-draft QB analysis lately. Just because he wasn't a star in the NFL doesn't mean he doesn't understand what it takes to play the position.

That is very true. People think his predictions are crazy in the moment but they usually end up being pretty accurate.

It’s debatable if someone asked him to throw 50-60 times a game or if he chose to throw 50-60 times a game. And remember, he did that even when we had a running game

    I mean....

Me, @mac daddyo@mac daddyo, @bigbenhotness@bigbenhotness, yourself Blast, @Steel_Elvis@Steel_Elvis and others were on record as of last year that the team needed to be balanced to preserve Big Ben's arm until it was absolutely necessary. The plan was working.... for the first four weeks. After that though, the running game all but vanished; Randy Fitchner's creativity along with it. By the end of the season though, the Offensive Line was no where to be found; the AFC Super Wild Card Game being the highlight of the disintegration of what was a Top Five Overall Unit in the league. The team has gotten back to basics and has done all it can to retool the Offensive Line; newcomers and draft picks alike.

OTA's and Training Camp for me this season will be far more interesting in years past as their are far more questions than just merely the Offensive Line as a whole.

They started to. It's a two year process.

    This.

Miracle work in one season cannot be expected in today's League. Perhaps back then as the NFL was still very much in a continual state of evolution and revolution. Today?! A lot of evolutionary aspects for certain but only a few revolutionary pieces to add.

So they didn't do all they could do to improve the OL, then?

So far, they did all they can do this year. It is not a one year process.

I mean, they can still sign someone, but I thought the point was that they did the *best* they could. Maybe that wasn't the point.

I hope not, because obviously they could have spent a 1st and 2nd round pick on the OL, or traded up for a top 2 guy.

Yes, exactly. They had holes other than OL. Filled some here. Fill some next year. Hopefully.

They did a great job of addressing several needs that they had.

i think they did well drafting as far as a building process. we needed a starting RB and a TE. we took full advantage of a really deep offensive linemen draft and were smart in waiting. we filled needs we had and will fill more next year when maybe the linemen won't be as deep.

Unfortunately, I think they left the most vulnerable, and arguably the most important position after QB, unaddressed.

I think CB will be the story of the Steelers 2021 season. Next year they probably lose Haden, too.

I'll give them RB and TE, where they got two high floor guys. The rest are rolls of the dice.

every player is a roll of the dice. look at the packers over the years. tony mandarich #2 overall, 4 starts. john michels #27 overall, 1 start. ross verba #30 overall, 8 starts. daryn colledge, # 47 overall, 9 starts. bryan bulaga, #27 overall, 9 starts. derek sharrod, # 30 overall, 0 starts. jason spriggs, #40 overall, 0 starts. those are first and second round players. the starters are two 4th and a 5th rounders right now for them. wait and see what these guys can do before you say we have failed since they were not first or second rounders that you wanted. they may just surprise you that they knew something. both these guys are quality players.

    Those statements are contradictory.

Ever consider just making this your signature?

that bothers you doesn't it? might as well pick at something because you can't seem to justify any of your quotes to make good sense. :smiley1::cool:

no those statements are not contradictory. both were very good in college. as pro's they will be considered rolls of the dice just like any other player until they get on the field.:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::hehehe::cool:
