Problem is with that mentality...I've brought this up in the Draft Replacement for Ben post......Let's say you finally go...3 - 14 ...You grab Your Blue Chip Qb, and He is Not good (Big % just aren't) ...Now knowing how this Franchise (The Beloved Steelers) operates...Hes a 1st round pick so they will Give him the full 5 years 2 suck , or prove he sucks, and they didn't make a wrong pick. So five below average seasons ....Not counting the one we had 2 get ...said sucky Qb....Your happy with that???
Please don't just spout in anger, but really think about it.(Not You OP, but everyone that's up for this). Now Imagine...and it can happen...the Next Blue Chip Qb we take sucks also.....BELIEVE Me it can happen....IMO
    Hell No.
Stay competitive, and see what the Draft Brings were you are at.

    This I agree with.

Well... there's several young QBs drafted in the 1st round that are doing well. Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert. Joe Burrow will probably end up being good... and Baker Mayfield won a playoff game against the Steelers, which isn't much considering the Steelers recent ineptitude in the playoffs... but he still won. Lamaar Jackson is likely a franchise QB for Ravens. Yeah, there's been some busts... Haskins, Darnold.... but Darnold could still end up being good on the Panthers. Steelers need to roll the dice on a QB if Rudolph don't pan out.

Also... I'd be shocked if Trevor Lawrence didn't turn out to be a good, franchise QB for Jags.

Almost everyone you named has really not yet done anything. Besides L. Jacksons MVP, but we have seen players get MVPs , and never really do much after that . Recent examples: Cam N....3 winning seasons in his career, and M . Ryan has had one winning season since he won . So...
What I'm trying 2 say is almost everyone you named the Jury is still out on them being great, good, sucking , or even on their team in a few years.
Can you say C. Wentz, and Jared Goff.
I know for a fact some here thought they were Great.

I was talking about franchise QB status... not accomplishments. Matthew Stafford and Philip Rivers were legit franchise QBs for Lions and Chargers for many years, but didn't accomplish much. Yes, some of those new, young QBs will end up like the Rivers and Staffords of the NFL... it's possible.

I will never understand the Marvin Lewis situation in Cin. Did the guy come cheap?? Did he have something on the owner and was blackmailing him to keep the job????? I only ever met one Bengal fan and he wanted to hunt him down and shoot him.

Now Tomlin, he has my head shaking. Yes we have had some great seasons with Mike at the helm and I sure as hell don't blame him for all the bad times that have happened. Injuries have bit us in the ass at times but a few years I believe we had the best team in NFL and I tend to blame Tomlin for not having great players ready in their minds.

Actually, at this point, all I'll miss about Tomlin is the quiz I love giving at get together's. Of the 4 major sports in the country which team has had the fewest HC's the past half century? It's funny, only 2-3 people ever got it and those that did noticed if I had Pittsburgh gear on they would concentrate on the Pittsburgh 3 teams. The #1 answer I tend to get is the Yankees. Why I do not know?

Are we ignoring Noll's record in the 80's?

Noll took the Steelers all the way to the AFC Championship in 1984 with Mark Malone at QB. Unfortunately, Steelers had to play some team in Florida with an excellent QB named Marino and got whooped.

Noll's team beat a better Oilers team and almost upset Broncos at Mile High with Bubby Brister at QB, 1989 season.

Sorry, Noll's 80's playoff victories were much more impressive than any Tomlin playoff win in the 2010's. Noll had some decent players like Lipps, Abercrombie, Pollard, Thompson, Hoge, etc....but they were nowhere near as good as BenR, Bell and AB.

Different time and different type of league. I am unsure why fans need to get into comparisons? Steelers were fortunate to have 3 quality HC's since the 70's.

I believe Ben, Bell, and Brown were only together for one complete post season run due to injuries. It's not about how good you are but how well you perform.

I believe you are correct about Ben, Bell, and Brown not being together, but once.
I know one playoff game we had neither except Ben. I also believe that was our year, but I've said that many times.

I agree, but a totally different NFL. Just the free agency thing is a huge difference, and that's just the tip of the Iceberg

Bell and AB played in all playoff games in '16 and '17. Bell was hurt in AFC Championship vs Patriots. Steelers had their full arsenal of weapons vs Jax and crapped the bed.

Ben gifted 14 points. Defense sucked... and took many 4th down heroics just to not get blown out lol

As I said one complete post season run together.

The early turnovers changed the complexion of the game vs the Jags. Just like the early turnovers changed the complexion of the game vs the Browns. Coaches and teams have a difficult time overcoming turnovers.

Martavis Bryant. He was like Randle El in XLV vs Packers. One of the few who showed up and actually played with passion.

I have a hard time considering Stafford a franchise QB with a career record of 74-90-1. He's a stat accumulator, like a Kirk Cousins or Derek Carr.

If Tomlin or Cowher had won 4 Super Bowls, we’d be ignoring anything they did after.

It’s very telling that the Steelers haven’t won a playoff game in 10 out of the last 14 years
