They're saying Tomlin is most overrated coach possible ever. Fact or Fiction?

Need a definition of "Overrated" in the context of an NFL coach. Is there a publisher of a ranking system for all NFL head coaches who coached for say at least 100 games?

I won't die on a hilltop either defending or denigrating Tomlin. He's a good NFL coach and a fine person. I don't think some of his methods are beyond reproach, but I don't think he should be fired. Doesn't matter what we think. Short of an epic collapse where this teams falls off with multiple losing seasons, he won't be fired.

This kind of crap thread is purely subjective. What about those Bills teams? Would you say Marv Levy was underrated because he couldn't get one Lombardi in four tries? Marty Schottenheimer because he couldn't get there? Bud Grant because he doesn't have a Lombardi on his resume'? Mike Shanahan? Don Shula? Loser of the greatest upset in SB history? You can create "yeah, but" for everything. Yes, even for Belicheck. Sorry, but the cheating allegations will forever be attached to his name and rightly so. Mike Tomlin is good, borderline great, but sometimes frustrating NFL head coach. You don't have to like him, but you have to respect him, like the others.

I've discussed this before. I absolutely wouldn't because it's part of the transition, unless they held onto them for 5+ years and it's obvious they suck. We already know how far Tomlin can take us, a good regular season and that's it.

You know what this list proved .....L. Tomlinson is way overrated.
What he ever do in the playoffs....I believe he is not even on the list of top 50 rbs in the playoffs...Yet he got a HOF off of regular season
    Not arguing with anyone.
    I'm not pushing either way.
This post just made me think about it, and I seen L. Tomlinson again not playing in the playoffs on that list.

Cowher is in with the same number of wins with more losses. Cowher had 3-4 losing seasons while Tomlin has never had a losing season and 3 500 seasons. How many times did cowher get booted from the playoffs by the pats?
Care to make up more bull****?

12 years ago. As the saying goes, what have you done for me lately? And in Tomlin's case not much. His shelf life was up a long time ago.

How many passes did TT complete in that game? 8? 9? Is it Tomlin’s fault Mundy failed at his assignment in overtime? Here’s a hint for you genius. It’s not. That falls solely on Mundy’s shoulders. How many turnovers did #7 have against the jags?

Fortunately for fans the Rooney’s are smart enough to know they already have a great coach and don’t have to perform mental gymnastics to justify keeping that coach.

The Pittsburgh Penguins had a great coach in Dan Bylsma who was great in the regular season. They took a chance and fired him, had one bad coach and then another who produced two championships.

    Who's smarter?

turnovers genius. Or to be more precise turnover differential. Win the turnover battle win the game. That holds true 78% of the time. That’s based on 70 years of nfl football so quite a substantial sample to draw an accurate conclusion. Be my guest continue with your mental gymnastics to justify your bull****. Lose Super Bowl to packers- lost turnover battle. Lose to bottles and the jags- Lost turnover battle. Lose to the browns and mayfield. Yup lost the turnover battle again. Do you need more or do you want to continue embarrassing yourself with made up crap?

do you always compare apples to oranges? I bet you say he did it with Bylsma’s players too.

It's not apples to oranges at all. Two different sports sure but the situation is exactly the same. Sometimes having a different voice in the room makes a huge difference. But the Rooney's are too cowardly to ever take that chance.

    It's going to be

    COWHER HOF
    240 games
    Record 149-90-1
    .629% winning %
    1-1 Super Bowls

    TOMLIN
    224 games
    Record 145-78-1
    .650% winning%
    1-1 Super Bowls

Tell that to HOF Don Shula and HOF Dan Marinos playoff record

Or maybe HOF Marv Levy and HOF Jim Kelly's

    Hack
