    Hello 8-9

At KC, vs CLE, at Bal to end the season. Geez who did the Steelers piss off?

I dont think we are as bad as some think.
I know everyone is worried about the O.
Honestly I'm more worried about the D.
There are games that some have seemed 2 forget. Where we were up by more than 2 scores , and running the ball 2 try and milk the clock.....while the D was giving up TDs. Somehow those games are forgotten.
Now this year the D is ...IMO less than it was.
    Still ...I say 10-7

I will say 9-8. Tomlin has another winning season.

The only positive that I can come up with about that closing string of games is that we will be relying on a lot of young players, and they have some time to gel before we hit the most brutal stretch of games.

I don’t put too much stock into the whole strength of schedule thing. Teams that were good last year could have bad seasons this year. Except for teams like KC that are mainstays, half the teams on that schedule could struggle this season.

I wish we had gotten Cleveland early though, by week 8, who knows what kind of shape Ben will be in. More than any team, I want to punch them in the mouth the most. Remind them we are still their daddy.

December/January schedule and Tomlin is not a good combination. I could see the Steelers being 8-3 and finishing 9-8 or 8-9.

8-8-1, that way Tomlin doesn't have a losing season

It doesn't look as terrible on paper as I had expected. I hope we can say the same about our OL and CB roster.

Schedule looks brutal. Those last 3 games lol. We might get beat by 15 plus in each.

I’d say we go 1-3 vs Balt/Cle and are pretty much guaranteed to lose at KC/Buf/GB if A Rod plays. That’s 6 losses before we even begin.

    I am peace, it's a win win

Either Steelers win games or get much higher draft pick for next qb

The 1st game will be the start of something good or bad. 7 away games in a row to start the season and we're around .500. "Just one victory and we're on our way" by Todd Rundgren.

I'm certainly not wishing them on any organizations, but as we know all too well, injuries are the great equalizer.

Having said that, I'll stick by my original prediction. 9-8, with some luck, 10-7....IF they stay relatively healthy.

This. Every team has lost some guys and got some new ones. Every teams record conceals lucky wins and unlucky losses. We’ll only really know the strength of schedule around week 6 of the season.

Lets see how it plays out. During the Tomlin era. the team has actually played up
to the better schedule during the regular season. Like most posters will 10 -7 be good enough?

10-7 likely misses the playoffs I would think, might get you the last WC spot

I agree with other posters that the strength of schedule can be misleading at this stage but I still think trips to Green Bay, Kansas, LA Chargers and Buffalo along with division games in Cleveland and Baltimore is going to be tough going. They’ll do well to get one win from those six games meaning their margin for error elsewhere is tiny. The trip to Minnesota is also going to be difficult.

Ed Bouchette predicting 8-9 in the Athletic, he is usually a glass half full guy

    11-6

    4-2 in the North

don’t forget that last year’s 2nd and 3rd place teams need to play all but 3 games of this schedule too. That includes matchups against NE, Miami, Indy, SF, LA Rams, and Arizona.

We will fight them on the field, we will fight them in the media, we will fight them in every city and we will never surrender.

To paraphrase the great Winston Churchill. And yes I did just watch, The Darkest Hour. Great movie and amazing job by Gary Oldman. Churchill was a bad mofo and I hope there are statues of him in England but I'm positive if the good old USA would have remained neutral they would be speaking German in England.
