it is what it is, but I disagree. More picks next year give you better leverage to move up in a draft evaluating players on a full season, time for medicals, in person interviews, and possibly the most important pick in a generation if in position to get a QB.

Loudermilk is the first pick I don't like, trading a 2022 4th for him , he will have to drop weight to play OLB.

Dulac has to be wrong. DE would make sense but OLB? I can't imagine that.

very slow 40 for OLB. Losing weight may help, but still a stretch

Is Tomlin the GM now? If so when did that happen?

I don't love all the picks but this seems like the Steelers obligatory wtf pick. Maybe this particular pick every year should be referred to as the "Sutton Smith" pick? They pulled a Sutton!

But it doesn't make sense to trade up for DE now, I don't see him playing there this season, they need the help at OLB.

On a lighter note, Buddy Johnson looks to be a quick study. Wore the green dot during his final season at Texas A&M. Very good if not great athletically. Just needs some fine tuning in pass coverage as he has the athleticism and some of the understanding down pat.

Yeah but looking at it from their perspective, here’s a guy they know and like right now and moved up to get him. Doesn’t make sense to say lets hold onto this pick in case someone we aren’t even aware of yet might come onto our radar next year.

I know but it's hard to image they take a guy who is one of the worst athletes at DE in the draft, and then move him to olb? what?

I can see it and the 5th is usually where you take projects like this, so we will see if he works out well or is another Gentry.

Again everyone, to have athletic ability is one thing. Having the desire and motor to use said tools is another. Clearly Isaiahh is not a stellar athletic but does possess a stellar motor with the relentless pursuit to match. Hopefully the team has a plan for him but even I have to agree that this definitely seems like a reach here.

No way this kid is an OLB

But...I guess we will see.. is he a back up OLB...or did they trade up for a practice squad DE?

There really was not much left among Edge players. Maybe Snowdon, as a project I really like Toney out of Penn State...ran a 4.55 40...but not until 6th or 7th round.

Ok, this is at least based in reality. I want to dunk on Dulac so hard.

    Read my above post.

I think Gerry must have stated such incorrectly. I would imagine that Loudermlik plays along the interior. If you go to his RAS score, he is a much better DT than DE although Kent Lee Platte, the creator of the site, uses different variables for that position. I believe that, for Platte, DT and Five Tech 3-4 DE are interchangeable. If that is the case then Loudermilk is definitely a good option there and is a much better athlete than standing up.

That said, he is going to have his work cut out for him. A lot of technical problems to clean up for sure; expansion on pass rushing moves doubly so.

I seriously doubt he’s playing OLB.
