There were too many holes to fill in one draft, which is why it was brain dead to pick a RB in the first round.

 

In a way football is becoming more about the skill positions, as the rules continue to favor the offense. Last year, offensive holding calls were not called at previous years rates. If this continues, a 4th round center could hold just as well as a second round center. If the trend continues, coverage players will become more valuable than pass rushers.

Well the Steelers had numerous first round picks on defense the last few years, and they haven't won a championship.
