Steelers got a smart all around offensive weapon with Naje.

This video below shows what type of RBs the Steelers were actually using in games last season. RBs with zero vision.

This is really good. It is also the thing people aren't getting about Harris because it isn't as easy to recognize. The Steelers really haven't had a back with good vision since Bell left, but that is a real strength with Harris.

Actually, it is what too many people aren't getting about the state of our OL. It is very easy to recognize if you open your eyes. The Steelers really haven't had a back who could use his vision since Bell left. This OL made Bell a better back than what he was. But it also molded itself into a diminishing return OL as its ability deteriorated and other backs were forced into running behind Bell's blocking.

This video is a great example of OL deficiency, NOT RB vision.

Bell ran through a 3 yard wide hole. He used his supposedly great vision because he COULD. The other clips show the RB having to make decisions to salvage a play instead of maximizing lane options. This video shows the RB NOT being able to use his vision.

Najee Harris is likely the best back we've got on our roster, but his ability, and vision, will be wasted if he's forced to navigate around the defense and his own linemen in the backfield.

Show me some video of Bell making something out of less than nothing and then we can talk about vision.

Bell was a hell of a player. blitz pickups, hands, route running, making guys miss, the patience, powerful, elusive. He had a great line but Bell was a real play maker , but the Steelers kinda ran the wheels off of him and he fizzled out after holding out. There is plenty of times Bell made something out of nothing. PLENTY. The video linked above shows the line executing blocks and the backs we rolled on the field had trent richardson level vision last year. They were also just not good or always injured. This is a great pick. Najee can do it all. A true game changer.

Well, you kinda got me on that one, now didn't you?

I said, "Show me some video of Bell making something out of less than nothing and then we can talk about vision." You showed me one that even had that in the title!!! Bastard.

The only thing I'll say to my point is that we had push and movement from the line on that run. Bell most defintely made something out of what seemed to be nothing, but when your fullback takes out two defenders as you make your cut (needed vision to make that cut, granted) you are still being supported by your blockers.

Until I see some bonified road graders paving the way for ANY of our RB's, I'm still going to blame the OL over the RB's.

None of that overshadows you making me eat my words, however. :drinks:
