Which other lower-priced outside linebacker are you talking about? Adeniyi was a huge downgrade as the third outside linebacker, too.

That was my point. We don't know that the Steelers actually like him. It is more likely that he is what they have to settle for because they have no cap room.

I was happy to see that. He was very good once they brought him back last season.

Now I don't know this...., but maybe he better fits the role our Offense is looking 2 run, than the offense he just left.????:hmm:

First year as the top line coach. Didn't work out so well for Sarrett.

I question Sarrett's qualifications but even if he had spoken up about the stupidity of moving Fieler to guard after signing Wiz because of a log jam at tackle and the thinking that he would flourish there. If he had zero input on the run after Munch had ran it for the last few years it really makes him a pretty useless a coach since he was basically just a figurehead or placeholder in the GameDay program.

he's made a lot of splash plays and forced fumbles during his playing days. adeniyi could have been kept for low money as well but they brought marsh back. he's making less then ray ray so i hope he works out for us. he is a good ST player as well. he played from the start last year from the time the signed him. that isn't something butler usually does until the player knows the defense as we have seen in the past. i do think they like him for the role he's going to be used in.

He played because they ran out of options ahead of him.

Steelers sign RB Kalen Ballage, who largely stinks.

I'm just waiting for his first whif that leads to a sack and MT apologists start calling him "Bill"

Now we have our RB. Another position shored up! We can drop JC AND Samuels now!

I guess this makes sense. We need to make sure we spend every penny of cap space or we'll have a budget deficit and they'll lower next year's cap.

I get the nfl network on xm sirius radio...I play Fantasy Football and I remember one particular episode where Ekeler, or Justin Jackson was out, and someone asked about Balledge...

And I remember the host saying..." He's the worst RB he's ever seen " lol

Lolley is reporting that this signals that they will take a rb high in the draft and that rookie will start. Not sure how he came to that conclusion but it's out there.

He should fit right in on the 32nd ranked running attack

But " The Steelers will never be associated with the 32nd ranked running attack ever again " per Rooney and Tomlin

I'm not sure I get the Ballage signing. I am guessing this means JC30 is done here.

I would have rather had Conner for another year. Conner may end up being just as cheap and would be a far better 2nd punch to whatever RB we end up drafting.

Thats definitely the end of Conner in Pittsburgh.

Maybe Conner is still hoping for a starting roll somewhere and knows he won’t get that here.

Can’t imagine the Steelers thinking Ballage is better. Conner played almost the entire year last season so don’t want to hear about injuries when he’d just be a #2 here and not a bell cow.

I thought he missed several games last season? Or at least he was always nursing an injury?

we have to quit thinking about the old offense and what some of these guys can do in a different style that we will be running under canada. some of these newer guys may fit this outside zone scheme much better then the players we had before. im not sure if the chargers ran an outside zone. it will take a different skillset for the linemen and the running backs.
