It’s clear from Buds farewell tribute that the feelings towards both Tomlin and Ben are not shared by the fans. Players think highly of both.

Who was saying that? I don't think I've heard anyone say they didn't want to play for Tomlin. The narrative was always the opposite... Most think he's too much of a players coach. AND I can't disagree with that at all. Tomlin's teams have consistently played sloppy and dealt with distractions from players thinking they are bigger than the team. Many people around the organization have commented about the lack of discipline and LACK of demands on good players over the years. It's not a stretch to think that's why we are rarely sharp on game day vs good teams. The talk I've heard usually revolves around Tomlin's lack of preparation.

The only player I can think of that called out Tomlin was Harrison and that was more about being lied to...and from what I've read Tomlin and/or the front office totally mishandled that situation. At the time Harrison was the best player on the roster to start yet he sat on the bench. Harrison's beef was being lied to when he wanted to play out his last year or two for the steelers. SO he said FU and went to NE. He got shafted and did what most people would... get a chance to win a SB ring while also telling your old boss to go F-him self. Everyone else I can think of left angry because the steelers refused to pay them what they wanted.

Alright I'll admit I may have suggested the notion that players don't want to play for Tomlin. I'm sure there are some out there. Harrison sure as hell didn't like Tomlin in the end saying Belichick was a much better coach.

I wouldn't say one player coming back in a weird scenario doesn't blow that idea out of the water altogether.

Glad he's coming back. At 34, maybe it isn't all about money for Alualu. Could be that staying in Pittsburgh is a better situation for his family. Not all players make decisions based strictly on money, obviously.

Plus, for Alalu, it appears he put his family first.

Isaiah Buggs. I’d be crying with a name like that too.

Two players came back, choosing to take less money to remain with the Steelers. The notion was that players wanted out of Pittsburgh. The evidence does not support that notion.

Harrison :roflmao:, he was just mad because he wasn't getting playing time over a rookie TJ.

Oh there was a few of them when players were leaving in free agency that suggested that was the case. Harrison wasn't the best player on the roster, he was past his prime in his late thirties, they needed to play Dupree and Watt. I was glad that traitor didn't win a Super Bowl with New England :hehehe:.

We should hear SDOT's feelings on Harrison.

Surprise surprise surprise... Glad Alualu is back, the snap count won't be extreme and if Tuitt or Heyward goes down he can fill in at End.

But what does this say about the development of the understudies Buggs and Davis? Two young guns who should have solidified a position over a 34 year old. Not a positive sign.

He was getting very little playing time his last season, three games I believe. And lest us not forget when the Alvin the great was struggling who came in and manned the position previous years. All that he had done for the Black&Gold Ol Popcorn could have thrown him some more snaps.

Oh well, 2 time Super Bowl Champion, holds the franchise record for sacks, and had one of the greatest plays in Super Bowl history. HOFer someday.

I wonder, just wonder if the Steelers released Ben and he went to the Cheats if some would bring the wrath that they have given Harrison? :hmm:

This sets some better wheels in motion. We don't have to look for veteran NT help or commit a draft pick to it. Shores up a need and allows us to pursue others. On top of that, he's a solid NT as long as we can keep him healthy.

Harrison doesn't get to dictate his playing time, the Steelers had two first round picks at OLB to play, Harrison also acted unprofessional to get cut so eff him.

    Dodge !....little buddy.
A little head work will go along way. I'm tired of seeing him eat the right uppercut.
