Between Batch and Lefty, I don't know who was the more fragile.

    Tough crowd.
    It's easily Neil O'Donnell.
    There I said it.

Still remember that damn tie with the Falcons. Can't remember exactly but he threw at least 2-3 4th and long passes in the 4th qtr. I remember us banging our heads against the wall each time we thought we had them stopped.

It would be great if the Steelers rolled the dice on Rudolph in 2021 and moved on from Roethlisberger, but looks like that's not gonna happen.

No need for the Kordella comment, he just shared to the media all the hate he got back when he was the Steelers starting QB.

Nothing to do with race, color or creed I just was never a fan of a QB who runs better then he throws. I loved him for the "slash" year. I believe he was the one who wanted to stop being "slash" and that irked me. I thought it hurt the team.

The fact this is so hard to answer shows the drought between the two.

The obvious here would be O'Donnell although I think he was average to good at best.

Imo we've only had two qbs that you can actually have hope could come frome behind and win a game in the 4th quarter.

This speaks to the importance of the position and how hard it is to get a good one.

I didn't blame him, being slash was detrimental to his longevity, taking too many hits. He was a QB and wanted to focus on that alone. He had too many OCs and the system could have been tweaked to suit his style but wasn't. Defenses were still allowed to tee off on players more than they are today, so he had to protect himself.

Thanks for reminding me of another reason Cowher was better than Tomlin - the Steelers would routinely lost their top guys on their 2nd contracts.

I never thought it was about race. It's a feminization of his last name. In my opinion it's a cheap shot having to do with the claims he was gay that's all. Not trying to start a fight with you. Just my opinion

Ah - another ancient fan from yesteryear. Yes, Bobby Layne and Ed Brown duo in 1962 took them to the Runner Up Bowl (9-5 record) against the Lions where they unfortunately lost. Some very good players on that team for a few years - Buddy Dial, Lou Michaels, Big Daddy Lipscomb, John Henry, Preston Carpenter, Gary Ballman..........compared to the 3 decades before then, this team was quite talented with a good combo of old retreads and some young blood. :drinks:

Thank you for the compliment. Alas, only in my dreams. Here's a bit of bio on this clunker: "The Bugatti Chiron costs almost $3 million, and it's about as exotic as hypercars get. With fluid curves and angrily squinting headlights, this coupe's exterior design communicates power and performance, and its standard 1500-hp engine endows it with acceleration capabilities worthy of a bullet train. This beast of an engine employs four turbochargers to generate a mighty 1500 horsepower and 1180 lb-ft of torque. Bugatti claims that the Chiron makes the dash from zero to 60 mph in a mere 2.3 seconds, and it has a top speed of 261 mph.

Another problem - it takes about 3 years for delivery. So there's that. :hmm:

If O'Donnell had resigned with Steelers... (which was pretty much impossible after SBXXX) the Steelers could have won a Super Bowl vs. Favre-led Packers in either SBXXXI or SBXXXII. O'Donnell with 96-97 O-line, the Bus, Stewart at WR, Thigpen at WR would have been badass along with the Steelers D.

With O'Donnell, Steelers don't lose to Patriots in Fog Bowl of '96 playoffs... and they sure as hell don't lose to the Broncos at home in the AFC Championship in '97 playoffs.
