There might be plenty of gas in the tank, but the engine has a hole in the block.

I just can't see any way they lower his cap hit other than an extension, which I really hope they don't do.

That's apparently where they went. The Steelers made a puzzling deal if what's being reported is true.

Back to another year of this franchise banging its head against the wall. I guess we'll have to wait till 22 to see that new offense.

Jumping the gun on this and there is already a thread covering this announcement right underneath this one.

Let me know when there is a statement from the Steelers.

Do you think there’s really a chance the Steelers will rain on this? I know they quoted Bens agent and not Art II, but I don’t see any upside to Bens agent putting an excessively happy face on this, if the Steelers were really taking the hard line that many seem to want.

it’s far easier for me to believe Art II would surrender to sentiment and accommodate Ben for one final futile run, than to play hard ball and make an offer that Ben can’t accept.

I could be wrong, but I suspect we’ve got one more year of the annual nonsense that Bens come to camp in the best shape of his life, and that he has a big chip on his shoulder and is super pissed off to redeem last yrs season ending disappointment. Once more, for old times sake!

Better really develop someone behind him ready to go.
Not someone just there to manage the game until Ben gets back from injury.

So in 2022 our only QB will be Haskins cause NO WAY Mason resigns with the team and Ben will be gone. What a waste of a 3rd round pick the last few years. Decision making from Colbert and the FO has been terrible for years. This news sucks!

I can dig it. Now fix the Oline and get a real RB. Glad Fitchner is out of the picture as well. Ben needs to get serious with strength and conditioning instead of relying on his old natural ability skills. As much as some fans will complain about this he still gives us a better chance of winning than Rudolph does.

I'll believe it when the ink is dry on a contract. Not what his agent says.

Exactly. Mason Rudolph. Give me a break. Haskin. LMAO. Watson. Too expensive. Wilson. No thanks. Darnold. Unproven.

All I ask is that Ben gets serious with working his tail off in the offseason. A huge task given his reputation but father time is knocking on his door and he better be telling him to back off.

Maybe he will surprise me but as of right now, he can’t move, can’t throw deep, won’t be able to run Canada’s system to the fullest and might have arthritis in his knees.

Hope they at least managed to get him to take a pay cut.

So what's the magic number of INTs he has to throw to pull him?
    Anyone can throw 5.

Improve the Run game by a million percent and if he relies on it, it's all good!
