    Remember Okoye?

Listed at 6'1" 265 while Bettis was listed at 5'11" 255. I believe Bettis actually said that he was playing at 270 and up during the season and he wasn't quite 5'11".

I was thinking about him as well. As I recall never played FB till college, went to a very small college, and was something like 26 when drafted. Amazing story.

And likely would have won a 2nd had they stayed the course and ran from the 1.

    I'd take Eddie George.

    1. That was 8-years ago, the NFL is a very different league now.

    2. They had Russell Wilson. That offense was much more balanced than you give it credit for. Not saying Lynch wasn’t great but they could have won without him with the way that offensive line played, they wouldn’t have won without Wilson.

    3. Yes, no championship is won without good defense regardless of what you have on offense.

And would have won another if they just handed it off to him instead of trying to make Wilson the hero. Dumbest call ever in the NFL. Dumbest. And Wilson choked! The cheats would only have 5 if they just handed it off to that pounder.

Have no worries we have Ben back there throwing 50 to 60 times...no need to run the ball...

Top 25 rushing leaders of all time. Only 2 were at least 240 or over. # 8 Jerome Bettis , and # 25 Jamal Lewis. Everyone else is 235 lb or less.

Tennesee, Balt, SF and others have had varying levels of success with this approach, still need the D and clutch QB play.

And this is the contradiction. Teams seem to think RBs are disposable but every quality back who comes along has a big impact on his teams success.

does anyone seriously think dalvin cook or travis henry are 2nd-3rd round pick talent?

Im in a small minority but i agreed with the call. They caught the Pats in a personnel mismatch and passed against a big front. Any time a DB comes over the top of a route for an INT the WR had to be pulling up for that to happen

Nah...if it was 4th down I agree ..It was SECOND down! If you give Lynch the ball 3 straight times there, I'm guessing the succuss rate is over 90%...And I can live with 90%,as opposed to try to trick someone with a high degree of risk play...

Carroll tried to be cute, and wanted that " Hey look at me moment "...and it bit him in the Ass!

I remember as was never so mad at a non Steeler game...I remember slamming something and screaming " You've got to be F***** kidding me "

Not to be dramatic, But that was the WORST call in the History of Sports.. And I'm not being dramatic!

Two years later the Falcons can't stop passing with a 28-3 lead and collapse. Two years later, KC's edge lines up offside as Brady throws a game ending INT in the AFCC Game.

Last three Pats' Super Bowls came with a ton of luck.

First you have to get the Hogs up front to push the line of scrimmage forward.

Then you add in a 250lb FB to push these modern day LBs out of the way.

And then you have your Thunder and Lightning backs running non stop.

But, all this has to start up front and right now we are losing the battle at the line of scrimmage. Modern day lineman are taught how to go backwards to pass block and not forward.

A great RB needs at least a good O-line for run blocking. Sounds like a two year draft project for us, if we go in that direction with priority.

I would say a true power back is more about the style of runner than the size... What I mean is a 215 lb RB can be either depending on his style and the style of Offense being run and what types of weapons are at WR.... Example Emmitt weighed like 215 but he was more of a Power Runner IMO and we had old Rashard Spindenhall at 225 and he was much more suited as a open space runner when he tried to Power run he got hurt...

I will say the day of the 240 run up the middle only guy is over , but we will still have a lot of 210 to 230 RB'S that can do both ....All though the hard nosed X Coach in me would love to see the next Alstott in a Steeler uniform ....
