Yeah, this is shocking to no one but this stuff just pisses me off so bad.

This is probably a combination of things, no run game, poor blocking by the line, Ben, Fitchner.

They got rid of Fichtner, should go further and thank Ben for his years of service and inform him they will be going in a different direction and if you wanted to go for the coup de grace, move on from Tomlin as well.

It’s just inexcusable for this to have been allowed to go on week after week. We heard similar things after the Ravens and Redskins game.

Why is the red zone the hardest area to move the ball in? Because the field becomes much shorter and therefore defenses have a significantly less area to protect. Well thats what the steelers did this year they created a smaller red zone for themselves on almost every play from every part of the field. When you know that 90 percent (or more) of the time they are going to throw and only throw in a 5 yd window then its very easy to defend.

Brady used to say the same things about our defense. Never changed much. And yet still definition of insanity.

Saw an interview with Minkah last off-season where he said the same, that the defence is the defence in Pittsburgh, not much changes week to week. He said there was far more game planning and adjustments for opponents when he was in Miami.

Re the offence, by the end of the season DB’s were apparently having bets among themselves on who would get the first INT, they knew exactly where the ball was going almost every time. Not good enough at this level. The game in Cincinnati was possibly the ugliest thing I have ever seen from an offence in the NFL. It was pathetic.

I expect big changes with Canada now in place, my worry is that Ben will tire of any changes Canada makes and we’ll be back to shotgun, dink and dunk by mid-season. I’d prefer a clean break personally, move on from Ben and Pouncey for better or worse.

Lol everyone blaming Ben for the problem, but as post above mentioned "
that the defence is the defence in Pittsburgh, not much changes week to week. He said there was far more game planning and adjustments for opponents when he was in Miami.

"by the end of the season DB’s were apparently having bets among themselves on who would get the first INT, they knew exactly where the ball was going almost every time. Not good enough at this level.

You can blame Ben all ya want, but Tomlin is the biggest contributer, of problems with this team,.............Hopefully the HACK will move on at the end of next season

I would not necessarily blame Ben any more than the WR’s and TE’s that were dropping balls all over the place, the OLine that couldn’t run block or the OC that rolled out that gameplan week after week, and yes Tomlin is ultimately answerable for it all.

The reason I’d prefer to move on from Ben is that he will be 39 with hugely limited mobility, playing behind a declining line. I don’t think he can hold up to 17 + games and I dont think they can fix everything that needs to be fixed in one off season on that side of the ball. That is without even getting in to the cap ramifications of bringing both him and Pouncey back.

Yeppers Blast...Was hoping for a complete overhaul ( hoping was all it was As I knew they wouldn't get rid of Popcorn )...

And sadly imo...The only way they would next year, Is for him to severely underperform AGAIN! And what Fan wants to cheer for that!

But, We we do have a ray of hope, and as you mentioned.. ALOT of things need to happen, some already did...

Got rid of Fitchner and Sarrett...
    Fix the OL..
Hired Canada, and a new OL Coach...
Draft a Bell Cow RB ( again, starts with the OL )

Canada is known for his multiple sets, lots of motion, RUNNING game...
Klemm wants to be more physical and nasty!!!..

It's still gonna be difficult, first and foremost from a cap standpoint...Trying to fill all the OL woes and get a stud RB AND try to retain a least a few of their prime FA's...

And lastly..Ben... Salary, attitude, all the change that is coming... How's he gonna think and react to it, Is he gonna be on board?

Idk lots of change...But my gosh it was sure time for some change!

While circumstances were strange at least the Pens did something today that could be exciting or a complete trainwreck bringing in Ron Hextall and Brian Burke. But that's the chance you take.

What drives me even crazier is that we have an ownership overseeing one of the crown jewel franchises in the league and they don't pull out all the stops to succeed. When you have players saying things like this PAY ATTENTION. Don't just say we're the mighty Steelers and we have such a rich history that we should never change our ways. If you're saying the defense you're playing now is the same one you played 10, 15 years ago that's not a good thing. Why former players bragged about this astonishes me.

And this albatross around their necks (of their own doing) of never firing a coach, don't get me started.

You can argue a lot of times if coaching is responsible or not but you really can’t on this point.

This just makes me think of the “we are going to do what we are going to do” quote.

And if the reason was, well this is the only offense we could run with Ben, then you know what, shut him down for the season and give someone else a try and definitely definitely do not bring him back just to relive it next season.

Blast. Come on. You do not go 12 -4 if your team is the easiest 2 defend. We are the Steelers. What do you expect them 2 say. ..... Man we got lucky beating them. Good thing Ben was just coming off major surgery, and got his knees messed up in Dallas. Hope we don't have 2 face them again. Come on you know this.

Thats a really unimpressive 12-4 after being 11-0. I would say that those quotes are being attributed to when their slide began and became 1 dimensional although they might have been exposed before that, IIRC there were Ravens and Washington players who were also saying similar things.

Where there’s smoke there is fire and no one can tell me the the level of play was atrocious from around the point of the Dallas game and on.

Which injuries caused. Line , Ben's knees, and so on. We are all going 2 have our opinions, but don't fall for we were easiest 2 defend. If you remember Washington barely beat us. If Alex Smith isn't able 2 run off the field with the dang football...well who knows. I mean if Washington thought we were so easy 2 defend why only win by 2 field goals. Why let us score 14 points in the 2nd quarter, and possibly more if not for the Alex Smith thing.

No seriously. Not effectively running the ball is the beginning of a litany of problems with this Offense. That must be addressed.

This is not new, been going on for a couple of years now. To me they shouldn't stop at firing OC and Offensive line coach. We do have a head coach is has no accountability. He should of been let go but with our ownership that wont' happen. But that dosen't make it right.

We have been performing poorly towards the end of the season for several years now with Tomlin at the helm and the buck should stop there.

Coaching matters. McVay would have had much more success if he were here since 2014 with the talent we've had.

This is a bottom five coaching staff.

Actually I was ..I stated the O was way to predictable and the Team was more lucky than good ..We also started each game looking like we never practice I complained about that as well...I was never fooled by this Offense or it's game planning or its play calling ...
