hilton has played a ton more. You can't give them up from the bench. Hilton has well over 1700 snaps to 1000 for sutton. Hilton was out for 4 this year or it would be a bigger deficit. In the past 3 years hilton has given up 6 to sutton 4 after playing nearly double the snaps. Plus the picks by hilton is 3 to 1, are the sacks and the tackles difference and hilton is the far better player.

If we keep Been we’re going to have to extend Haden if he doesn’t get cut.

No the cap could go to 198 million, then re-sign Ben to lower his 2021 cap hit, add on voidable years. Restructure Heyward and Tuitt to free up cap space, also cut Vance maybe Vince and some others.

I think Colbert screwed up by letting both of these guys become free agents at the same time, he should've tried to sign one of them to a long term deal sooner, I hope they can re-sign Sutton before free agency starts.

Hopefully they can keep one, and I believe it will be Sutton which I would be in favor of. He can play multiple sets. I would like to keep Hilton but I believe his asking price would be to steep and if they let Nelson or Haden go they will need an outside corner in which Hilton is not.

This might be the right call ... who is to say the wheels don't fall off Haden my middle of next year?

I love Haden though, I will hate to see him go...

If I had my choice right now, I think I would cut Haden and keep both Hilton and Sutton. If I have to choose, I keep Sutton. I think Pierre is going to be a player yet. I think he may struggle if we are in zone, but I think he can cover.

Haden will have a cap hit of $15 Million guys. Not only that, Corners who are generally over the age of 30 usually are on their last legs as it stands. Add the fact that Cameron Sutton is simply more than the sum of his parts and cutting Haden becomes more of a possibility than others believe.

Regarding restructures, the only players I can think of are Stephon Tuitt and Cameron Heyward as it stands. Restructuring both can save the team roughly $11 per Steelersdepot.com by doing both.

I see it said a lot that Hilton can’t cover, not true. I think he is the better player

Yeah, he can play outside too, but if the Steelers believe he can do that job regularly as a starter and plan to use him as an outside corner then it’s a very different negotiation in terms of $$$$$. I was viewing them both as slot corners.

I think Hilton gets a big free agent offer, and leaves.

Very possible. All of these guys should test free agency and see what they can get.

Hilton may fit the Steelers defence better than most though, I hope he stays. We’ll see

they really needed layne to show something. pierre i think they hang on to as well but there are limitations. sutton is not a guy i want on the other teams best wr. nor is nelson. now i think sutton could replace nelson as the number 2, but the slot is important and not every corner can play the slot. hilton is one of the best in the league at it. he is also versitile. they know he has the ability to play FS too in a pinch. he also played every position in the defensive backfield at ole miss. no, i dont want him as an outside corner for more then a game if it came down to it but he could. his worth to us is in the slot. he knows this defense and does a lot of things to help the others back there. we need to find a way to keep he and sutton and haden for at least next year. nelson to me should be the odd an out. in a perfect world, id keep them all together.

Mac, I too like Hilton alot for his pyhsical play and somebody is going to be leaving, I too have Sutton taking one of the CB positions which one not sure. Layne
does not impress me.A salary purge is coming from this position, I guess we will have to wait just how deep that cut will be.
