Just saw that the Ravens released him so I thought I'd get it started:
DON'T, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SIGN THIS GUY!

No to RG III but what about Jamies Winston?

If you take out his 30 interception season, where Arians was his OC and had him throw the ball about 650 times, his other seasons are similar to Bens in turnovers. An OC like Canada could make good use of Winston.

He won’t be in the Saints plans, looks like they will turn to Hill so he’ll hit the market this off season.

Probably moot though, Ben will likely be back. I’d rather go with Winston, same turn over risk but can still make all the throws, especially down filed which Ben can’t do anymore and can run Canadas system.

    Hard pass on RG III.

If Ben retires I could live with a season of Winston or Fitzmagic

Canada also had a productive two year spell with Jacoby Brisett at NC State back around 2015 as QB coach and OC. He is also a free agent

There are options if Ben hangs em up

I watched Mason play against a desperate Clowns team and did better than BB did or what Dobbs, JW or RG would have done. Why the desire for has beens who can't stay on a team?

No issue rolling with Mason but if Ben retires Mason will be the only QB left on the roster as Dobbs is a free agent and Duck is being released. They’d have to get a veteran in in case of injury or in case Mason starts to struggle again. One reasonable performance does not mean he is ready to be the starter either.

Thing that worries me about Winston is he couldn't beat out Hill for the backup slot. Now, that might have been because Peyton liked having a Lamar-style backup because it forces teams to plan for more plays, but not a good indicator. I think he still has opportunities to start in his future, but he needs to be somewhere he'll get legit reps not just trick plays.

I watched Mason too, he had the worst passer rating in the league when under pressure last season and showed that again against Cleveland, he struggles with intermediate passes, doesn’t seem to be able to go through his progressions but does throw a very nice deep ball which is how they got back in the game against the Browns.

He’s a career backup at best.

I would go with Winston. Devise two game plans, if possible. Sub him in throughout the game as the Saints did with Hill and keep the opposing defense guessing.

This wouldn’t concern me. A big part of the issue there was the Saints doubling down on their frankly insane decision to pay Taysom Hill before he had played a full game under center. I don’t know what they were thinking with that contract.

RGIII was done years ago. Shanahan killed him playing with that ACL injury.

Ravens are clearing cap space early. Extension on the way for Lamar?

No Winston please, guy was gifting the other team before Arians got there.
Talk about being under pressure, Rudolph is better than Winston imo.

He’s under contract for 2021, BUT he has a 10.6 million base salary so he could be released. I would strongly consider him, especially in Canada’s offense.

Same turnover rate as Ben most seasons, Ben had a couple seasons under 10 but other than that, very similar.

Even in that abomination of a season where he threw 30 picks, he threw for over 5,000 yards and 33 TDs.

People acting like Winston is Jamarcus Russel.

Teams, system...A good athlete who can run and create plays...Would potentially be a good fit with Canadas supposed Offense
