Steelers released G/C Stefen Wisniewski

Unless they have an injury crisis on the line. Dallas lost two offensive linemen tonight within minutes. It’s the NFL and these things do happen.

 

I honestly do not know the answer to this, but when he was coming back from IR what was the status of the younger OL? For some of them you could only recall them from the PS before you had to put them on them on the 53, or cut them loose. I can only imagine this had something to do with not resigning him. I do not think the money was the real issue as his contract really was not that more than even UFA rookie. While he was signed to the KC PS not sue he could have been signed to ours as the rules differ for long term vets.

 

Sure. But that could happen at any position. Do we keep 20 extra old cheap players just in case?

 

Wiz has played in the last 5 games for the Chiefs starting 2 of them this season. I am sure he is happy to be back on Kansas City and making a playoff run, but I do not understand why he was let go. Just curious if anyone found out why he was let go.

Steelers signed him to a 2 year contract, to be the backup Center/Guard position that was left empty this off-season. His base salary was fully guaranteed by the Steelers with his bonus money counting against the 20 &21 season. Surely he would have been an upgrade over J.C. Hassenauer.

Hometown guy that seemed extremely happy to be a Steeler.
