Dulac: Mike Tomlin Called ‘All The Defensive Signals’ Against Browns Sunday Night

This is per Steelers Depot. I wonder how long this has been the case.

Apparently since Lebeau has been gone:

"It’s been clear Tomlin has had a growing influence on the defense since Dick LeBeau was no longer the team’s defensive coordinator. Head to a training camp practice and you’ll see Tomlin spend plenty of time with the defense, even once going over Cover 2 technique with the CBs a few years ago."

I'm telling you man ... he is turning our defense into the Tony Dungy Colts.

Great pass rushers, but can't stop the run, which spells doom come playoff time.

Think his Vikings D were ranked last against the pass, which explains why our guys suck,,,,it's Tomlin... just looking at the 2006 Viking stats,, his D were #1 against the run,,,2nd last against the pass.

Great intel TDFW. I need to take back in what I said that he lets his OC and DC call the shots and the gameplan. At least we solved that riddle. I am moonwalking my words back into my mouth. lol

Alex seems to be a credible source but Im surprised this was disclosed or leaked.

Then he called a really crappy defensive game because Refrigerator Perry could have ran through those holes. Couldn’t stop the RB screens either.

They had one stretch of three 3 and outs on defense, the rest of the game, Cleveland moved the ball at will.

Playing Spillane and sitting Dotson were huge miscalculations, too.

It was a terrible game by coaches and players, all around failure.

Tomlin did his best work when they had real coordinators and he was relegated to cheerleader. The more he touches stuff, the more it turns to ****.

Well he does have one more year remaining on his contract. Maybe just maybe AR2 won't extend him again. Best we can hope for.

It wasn't a great effort calling plays. That being said, I would have hated to have to try to cover up for those LB'ers we had on the field.

You guys are harsh.....MT is a top five coach . We had a great year, we just ran out of gas. Actually, I think when Bud got hurt or whole team chemistry changed, especially on D.

Next year we go at it again....

BC was not always on point , nor was CN....it’s football.

What's the trade value on a top 5 coach?

We are a good team just lack the qb and coaching to get by in the postseason.

And next year we flame out in the playoffs again. How many times do you need to see this movie? Tomlin is top 5 if you want a good regular season but anything more? Not happening.

Tomlin ain't worth a bucket of Legos when it comes to building a Championship team. The guy had every piece of the puzzle in the order of talent and continuously failed to do anything with those great players. The atmosphere he has created leads to nothing more than a ton of me me me egos pushing their brands (whatever the hell that means). The guy should have been fired immediately after the Jax Playoff splat. The score was very similar to the Cleveland letdown this past week. Maybe he called the defensive plays in that game also.

I think that says a lot about Williamson. Even with Spillane and Williams less than 100 percent, they were still on the field a lot.

I think it says more about Tomlin and his preference to go with experience. Also that he doesn’t believe a players position should be lost because of injury.

Williamson has only been in this system for what, one, two months now? I think it was a terrible call.

I understand starting, and playing Spillane. I don't fault Tomlin for that. Once it was obvious that he was a liabilty, I have no idea why a switch to Williamson wasn't made. Spillane was awful.

Probably not. But the way Tomlin does just enough to win in the regular season you never know.
