Nonsense. Give Andy Reid or Sean McVay or Kyle Shanahan this group and you'd see that talent bloom when it's put into position to succeed.

Hard to block 8 with 6. Hard to catch every pass when a crushing tackle follows a split second later.

Teams started squatting on the short pass offense mid-season and the Steelers never adjusted.

Agreed. I think the question to ask is why. Was it Ben didn't feel like his arm could do it all year? Was it the OC?

You watch even the 2 point conversion attempt last night to JuJu. The CB sat on the route. The guy wasn't open. It was bad.

Tomlin needs to go watch what teams like Buffalo, Baltimore and KC are doing with their offenses. This D will be fine just by getting back a playmaker in Bush and having Highsmith play the whole year as opposed to Marsh last night who kept getting run over and over, (That was a really big loss last night.) so fixing what is wrong with this offense is the priority to me. And I don't just mean changing players, I mean changing HOW we are running the offense. If Ben leaves, its an opportunity to determine how to modernize this offense around a new starting QB. Randy is NOT that guy.

Other teams, their OCs are playing chess. Ours is playing Connect Four.

Also guys are amped up why you start out in the Gun ? If Ben can't play under Center and he cant use PA then he is hurting his Team so between him and our OC it's really a miracle we even made the playoffs...If they both come back we might go 0-16 ...

Honestly the whole offensive side needs to go. I’d be ok with them canning every single coach on that side of the football. Fichtner is only there because of his relationship with Ben. Once Ben is gone then Fichtner is gone.

Finchtner is also here because of Tomlin. He, Tomlin and Butler go back to college coaching days. Think it's a coincidence that his buddies are still on the staff?

Steelers are offering a 7th round pick and 2 cases of IC Light for anyone who takes Fichtner.

Ben and Tomlin. Him and Tomlin have a history together.

Tomlin just doesn't command authority and respect. The players like him but they don't respect him. There's a huge difference. I suspect Mr Rooney has a little to do with this as i think the edict to put up with the star players comes from up above. For example AB's antics had been going on for a very long time. Under the old regime that crap wouldn't have been tolerated yet for some reason it is now? This leads to even good hearted players becoming a issue. JuJu's Antics comes to mind. He is still a young man learning that i believe doesnt mean any harm. Yet his actions cause harm. Why is that? cause of the examples around him. Look no further than his quote about the browns. He didnt take them seriously. That was his attitude plain as day. Attitude reflects leadership captain (rememeber the titans).

I know last night sucked, but come on, this isn't true at all. Claypool is a monster in the making. DJ has moments of greatness, but needs to figure out his dropping issue in the off season. And I know people are down on him, but Juju is still damn good. He may not be where AB was a few years ago, but how many receivers are?

I think it's clear that the biggest issue on offense is the OC. When Ben is calling his own plays and throwing down field, things happen, they move the ball. When Fichtner is calling the plays, it's predictable and pathetic. Don't get me wrong, I think it's time for Ben to hang it up, it's clear he has nothing left, but we're likely to have Ben for one more season and Fichtner MUST go.

I know that all plays come down to execution, so at the end of the day a play is successful if it works. So for the Steelers to struggle so much on 3rd and 4th and short, that to me falls on the o-line. With that being said, how about we have a jumbo package, an unbalanced line, run something other than a run right up the gut etc. That is on the play calling. McFarland is supposed to be an open field, make them miss back, where were the passes to him out of the backfield? That is on the play calling. We always hear how the NFL is a copycat league, Fichtner needs to be studying Reed, Shanahan, Mcvay, but hopefully somewhere else. If his firing is not announced Monday (and dare to dream Tomlins), I will be very disappointed.

He says that same nonsense all the time. He’ still pouting because they got rid of the only reasons he claims to be a Steelers fan.

I’m sure Tampa and KC are looking for more fans.

I'd be perfectly fine with Canada taking over the OC job. He did great at Pitt. He runs a more modern offense than Fichtner. A lot of those Claypool jet sweeps earlier in the season was wrinkles from his scheme as well as the pop passes that Dobbs did last week against the Browns.
