Other than in Little League, baseball has strangely survived for what, 150 years without any after game greetings or congrats. Only time I recall seeing it was when juicers McGuire and and Sosa were vying for the HR record and McGuire hugged Sosa as he was rounding first after a HR. I've always liked the College BB after game linear handshake lines.

It wasn't your cold SM, it was your arm tat. Not sure what's scarier - the villainous pirate image or the fan who sold his soul to our beloved sinking franchise. ;)

Of coarse you did. Personal Covid War?

You are saying it's ok to play the game as outlined by the NFL and NFLPA but you are voicing concerns about the players possibly spreading a virus that they previously tested negative for in order to play the game as if the last play of the game was irrelevant towards the concern but now 12 seconds later they should go full PPE all the way to their home residency.

I get it, you believe it should be split apart instantly but in reality it's hypocritical. This is what I was stating in the previous thread which you decided I should start another one voicing my same point of view but then want to tell me I'm turning this thread into my personal covid war.

I admire your desire to always be correct but sometimes you are just a bit off.

Look, this whole Covid thing is a complete mess and many of us have incredibly different opinions about this pandemic but as proven over the past year nobody is 100% correct nor incorrect with these assertions.

Jesu Christi, can we keep the non-Steelers COVID bickering in a general forum?

I take so much **** for this tat. Then I have to go into the long story of how the Pirates were my childhood and the biggest team in the Burgh when I grew up there. The young just can't believe that the NFL was not nearly as big as it is today. And then they ask why not Penguins, because there was no Penguins in my youth. Greatest memory for me was sneaking my little transistor radio under the covers and listening to Bob Prince.

Im not sure if my point flew over your head, or you're so busy making your point you didn't care to read.

Ben Roethlisberger and Baker Mayfield are never on the field at the same time. @Disco1981@Disco1981 pointed out that Baker was seen coughing after the game. So why is it a smart move to have Ben and Baker meet after the game? Doing so puts players who had no contact during the game whatsoever, in close contact with each other.

The Browns HC has Covid. There is no interaction during the course of the game between he Browns HC and the Steelers players. So why is it a smart move to have him interacting with opposing players after the game?

Lucky you. When I'm watching the Steelers game my wife brings up the loose step on the porch I need to fix, or the broken knob on the washer I need to replace, or the leaky garden hose I need to tighten, or the...

I already fixed all of those things :smiley1:

In reality, my wife is a big Steelers fan. She’s been going to games with me for 30+ years.

At the last home Browns game in 3 Rivers, before the move to Baltimore, the fans peacefully protested the move. We wore orange arm bands and after the national anthem, we all turned our backs to the field.

My wife who I had ingrained, asked why are we doing this, “I thought we hated the Browns”. I said “Yes, but they are our team to hate, let Baltimore get their own”.

That was back when civilized intelligent people protested.

My wife tried that for a year or two. Now she just goes to her room to watch her own shows or leaves the house altogether.

I get you better stop your yelling and if one more F-bomb comes out of your mouth I'm turning the TV off.

My wife knows better. The problem arises, as it will again this week, when the Steelers play night games. I get two different outcomes. "I'm trying to sleep!" from the Mrs. and "Why can't I stay up and watch it" from my 13 year old.

Respectfully I say let the young one stay up and watch it. Who knows where this BS we are going through will take us. A 13 year old can stay up late and still function. Enjoy a Playoff game with your kid.

That conversation will be brought up several times between the 3 of us leading up to the game. He does get good grades so he does have that card to play.

Maybe I should start a poll on this website and present it to his mother before kick off. LOL.

If you're going to drag reality into this, my wife is a Steelers fan too. She knows whatever topic she brings up during the game will have to be repeated when it's over. Most of the topics she brings up at anytime will have to be repeated anyway.

I vote let the boy watch the game. Hell my 8 year old will be watching right by my side.

If Ben retires after the season your boy may be old enough to drink the next time the Steelers make the playoffs.

I'm fortunate. I had to convert my wife into a Steelers fan while we were dating. But now she's a die hard fan. She hasn't missed a game in as long as I can remember. She doesn't scream and break things like @steel machine@steel machine 's wife though. :lolol:

I didn’t say it should have its own forum. I said the general, non-Steelers-oriented Covid arguments—a topic on which, like politics, no one’s views are likely to change—should be in a general section.

My wife yells at the TV with me, but she's not as loud, and uses less colorful language. Sometimes she shushes me when I'm dropping loud F bombs. I tell her that the nearest house is 200' away. They. Can't. Hear. Me.

My closest neighbors are at least 300' away and I guarantee they can hear me on some occasions, especially if the windows are open. I live up on a ridge and sound travels real far out here. They probably heard me 3 miles away up town when Ben threw that SB TD winner to Holmes!
