Mayfield could just have the common cold but in the brave new world we are experiencing a sneeze now makes everybody nervous. I had a cold a few months ago and even though it was not to bad the one time I went to store people were scared to death of me.

Something went down the wrong pipe while me and the Mrs. were out to eat, and I started coughing like Hell..

The looks! I thought people were going to actually come over and punch me! Lol

I have allergies. When I feel a sneeze coming on I literally jump up from wherever I'm at and try to isolate myself to sneeze into my inner elbow. Sometimes it comes on too quick and I can't make it. Should just carry Lysol and do a full 360 degree spray in that instance.

I didn't notice Mayfield hacking it up after the game but after playing for the whole game getting tackled and picked back up by physical contact a handshake afterwards is not going to be any added risk. Germs are already present. It doesn't take a politician, doctor or scientist to figure that out.

The same thing happened to my wife last week while we were out with another couple. She kept nudging me hard on my side when I said, geez, better not be Covid, Evacuate! Evacuate!

Physical contact during the game is necessary to actually play the game. The post-game pleasantries are not.

If you think players shouldn't be friendly amongst each other then I can understand your take on it. If you think there is actual added risk of contacting covid then I believe you may be delusional.

Just like the virus won't spread in restaurants as long as you're sitting down eating, but watch out when you get up to pay your bill, or go to the restroom! Get that mask on!

Just because extended contact is the most likely method of transition doesn't mean a quick handshake can't do it, too.

Again, why take even the smallest risk when it isn't necessary?

Just stop already. If you are worried about the smallest of risks then you HAVE to support NOT playing the game at all! These arguments are ridiculous. Maybe they should all come onto the field in an individual bubble and then be assigned a not in play bubble, then rolled off the field in an after game bubble.

In the early stages of the pandemic I was taking a 2nd blood pressure medication that the main side effect was a dry persistent cough which occurred in like 70% of ppl taking it. Sure enough happened to me too and had ppl at the grocery store looking at me as if I had Covid-19. I wanted to scream im not sick its just a medication side-effect

I have no interest in stopping when I'm right. No, I don't have to support not playing at all. I support avoiding every unnecessary risk. The post-game hugs and handshakes are unnecessary. They can play the games without them.

The virus needs close contact in close quarters and breathing the same air to be at it's most effective.. This is why you wear a mask going into a Restaurant and paying it's the close contact part.. I worked outside for a Month running the Tree Lot we had many many people and to my knowledge none of my staff or customers contacted the virus.. We did wear a mask when in close contact washed and sanitized our hands and equipment so IMO the virus has a much harder time spreading when fressh Air is introduced..We even tried to eat at places that kept doors open or had outside dining ..My sister went to Cherokee last week and her and all 3 of Her Friends now have it she is now on a ventilator and has been for 3 days ,I am not sure if those guys wore mask or wiped down their machines or sanitized the car and so fourth , but the point is I think people should respect the virus and take at least some steps to protect themselves IMO it does help..

It would be nice if we could move these repetitive and redundant virus threats to General NFL.

Yep. As ridiculous as it sounds I wear the mask anytime I leave the house. I live in a smaller community where the two biggest employers are the company I work for and Artic Cat snowmobile plant. My in-laws both tested positive at the end of October but thankfully didn't get sick but since I am at work every day with 400+ other ppl I wear the mask when I pick up the kids there, drop off leftovers, come for NYE for dinner. Wife and I missed Xmas dinner over there because we both had a bad head cold that we didn't want them catching. It seems ridiculous but yes wearing the mask has helped.

If you are going to be trite, at least make sure you use it when it applies. That would apply if I had made a direct comment about you, which I did not.

I get your argument, but it just seems like such an easy way to cut down even a tiny part of the risk that it makes no sense to me not to do it.

We have guys and ladies on the golf course who wear the mask while their playing. I cannot golf that way so I have stopped golfing with friends and as I always knew golfing alone is so much better for my score.

Neither - Asymptomatic spread, as is the case with all respiratory viruses, is not a driver of transmission. As long as sick people aren't playing and coughing and sneezing on other players, it won't spread.

Also, a positive test for SARS-COV-2 is not the same thing as having Covid. One is a virus, the other is an illness.

As the CDC recommended months ago, when it was subsequently threatened by several members of Congress who benefit from lockdowns, we should stop testing healthy, asymptomatic people.

Once that happens, "cases" magically drop to nil and we treat Covid like every other illness - by treating the sick.

You can’t say shaking hands or hugging carries no risk. I’ve seen several times where a player shakes hands, then touches their face. That’s a great way to spread a virus. The post game pleasantries are unnecessary. Didn’t the NFL ban jersey swapping after games? Seems like that would be far less of a concern.

I glanced at that train wreck. Should've known you'd try and turn it into some kinda personal Covid war.
Right or wrong the league has decided to play the games. That's set. All @TuRnDoWnForWaTT@TuRnDoWnForWaTT was asking was if it makes sense to be extra careful and do away with the post game socializing between teams. IMO if there's any chance (even if it's small) that it could cause it to spread then it's unnecessary.

Perhaps we can get the mods to create a “Repetitive and Redundant *****/Moan” Forum. Though it might end having 90% of the threads,
