I like it. As long as the Steelers are this close to a SB, I think Colbert will keep coming back to try and win it.

I read a similar article this morning that had the Lions and Carolina pitching for him and Khan, but the caveat (at least for him) was his current contract was in place through the 2021 draft. Glad to hear he signed again.

Colbert at his age, why would he want to go some where else? Plus I give him a year or two left, and he will hang it up.

I just hope Brandon Hunt sticks around. He is pretty much next in line for Colbert's job, I'm sure he will tried to be lured away by another team.

I never really thought he was going anywhere. But I am sure glad he is sticking around.

Between Colbert TOMLIN and this Rooney, Kevin is by far the best thing we have going. Glad to hear he is sticking around.

Can we still count on him to draft defensive backs poorly?

    I kid I kid.

How much pull do you think Ben has in getting a high round receiver every year? Does he go straight to Rooney with I'm done threats?

I think this signing indicates he will hang it up when done here. As for age I do not think that means the same for every one. Sometimes there is a drive for a challenge, prove yourself one more time. Some have done it and succeeded, many have tried and failed, could look up names but to tired.

    Pro Scouting Coordinator.

If anything, assuming Omar Kahn takes the job in Houston, come 2022 should Colbert be gone for good, Brandon Hunt is the likely successor.

Id say he certainly advocates for that and knowing how dramatic Ben is with his retirement threats Id say anything is possible.

Who do you think has more say in drafting them vs. acquiring them via trade/free agency?

They have a profile when they draft them -- Raw, SPARQy athletes that need to be coached up. Tomlin was a former DB coach, after all.

They acquire guys who are ready to step in and don't need a lot of development.

He's got plenty of receivers. They draft one in the 2nd round every year and they all overperform.

What he should ask for is a lead back and some more OL.

Preach on Maddog. At least get him another pass catching back.

It's hard for me to determine if our success with wrs is because of Ben or we are that talented at scouting them.

Boy that took me back. I never knew the movie was going to be that R rated and I took my future sister-in-law who was way too young for that movie. Man I got my butt reamed over that.
