I think the most troubling thing I noticed about Ben is that he has a "I don't really care anymore" look on his face.

Won't happen, We're the Steelers...We don't panic and make knee jerk reactions blah blah blah..Like Rooney acting all tough in the off-season " We WILL get back to running the Football, We WILL correct it... LMAO, Ok tough guy! It's worse than it EVER has been! I've seen way inferior ( maybe ) teams...Firing their Coordinators, But not the great Steelers! If you're not gonna get fired after this stretch, you never will ...

I agree with Bigbenhotness...This team needs over-hauled, all of it...Tomlin, Ben, Pouncey, DD, Haden, Ebron, Conner, McDonald...gone gone gone gone gone...this team is Toast!

I will be very disappointed if Ben comes back next year. Mason is not ready and never will be, they need a QB and also restructure the whole coaching staff. Get some young blood in there.

The fumbled snap and fumble by ju ju didn't help. Sometimes games can spiral out of control with a bad start. Like manning in the 13 superbowl

Wilson might. He's mobile and can throw on the run which would be ideal if the oline isn't playing top notch. Other option is pick the best olineman available abd sign a freeagent qb

I see a lot of “fans” whining about Tomlin’s speeches, but what should he have said? What is there to say? The team isn’t playing well and needs to play better. What do y’all want him to say?

Except in the playoffs, that won't fly. You cannot play that bad for a half and win against top competition. That kind of play can't be tolerated or excused

    Hey Jujubean.

I have read some of the posts in this thread and had to stop once people started suggesting to sit Ben for Mason. Uhhh, Yah. Right! Hysterical. Get real people. If anyone needs a refresher of life without Ben and wants Mason to take his hat then just go back and review last season.

As far as Tomlin, yes I agree his time has past. Face it, he won the Super Bowl with a "ready to go" team. Call it Cowher's team if you want. The truth is the truth. Sure he is a good coach. Good not great. Ask me who then, and and I will candidly tell you I do not know. Given that with all of the talent he has been given over the years, we easily should have a few more rings. All of the Tomlin loyalists here can scream to the sky or put your fingers in your ears, it is the truth.

The bottom line is about getting a "Ring". Tomlin has not delivered. I really hope that he can. He is our Coach. I want him to succeed. We need him to succeed and now. He needs to right this ship. We still have a few more weeks until the playoffs. The good thing is we clinched a berth early so we do not have to wait until the final week as in recent seasons to see if we make it. So, that pressure is off. Now, take advantage of these next few weeks and pull this thing together. Until Tomlin wins a Championship with his "Brand" he will never get out from behind the "Cowher's Players Shadow" notion. It is true folks whether you want to accept it or not. The problem with some here is their blind loyalty to Mr. Tomlin. I have listed his strengths and shortcomings often here. So, I will not do that again.

Admittedly, I wanted Coach Cowher gone after numerous AFC Championship failures. He finally "broke through". This is what Coach Tomlin needs to do. In part, as far as stigmas are concerned, it is not enough that Coach Tomlin won that Super Bowl. Yes, I will give him partial credit for the achievement. Someone had to steer the ship at the time. However, and again, the Team was already "pre-packaged" for him and ready to go. So, in that regards he did what was expected of him and got the "Ring". Again, he needs to win a Championship that has his trademark stamped on it. Until then, he will receive this constant criticism and IMO, righteously so.

The part I think that will always gnaw at me is what Coach Cowher could have accomplished if Ben and him had more time together. I really think more "Rings" were to be had. Sadly, we will never know. And before anyone brings up that what happened in their third year together nonsense I will say it for the 100th time. Ben's motorcycle accident and an emergency appendectomy took their toll on his body. This is the obvious. Again though, if you are walking around with blinders on then you would not be capable of seeing this. We started that season out 2-6 and finished up 6-2. Makes complete sense from a body healing standpoint.

It makes me not a "fan" if I say something about the same speech being regurgitated?

Great thread and I can see both sides. Tomlin ain't going nowhere. Sorry for those of you who want him gone. Tomlin can only do so much, THE PLAYERS HAVE TO PERFORM and they are not.

I do think we are headed toward the bottom of AFC North and it could be time to bring in young fresh ideas but that is probably a few years off.

It doesn’t matter who your offensive coordinator is if your quarterback can’t hit the broadside of a barn and consistently makes terrible reads. The line is plain offensive. They can’t block to save their lives. Are you really complaining about the defense and coordinator? With the way this offense puts them in lose lose situations repeatedly a lesser defense would have given up 40-50 points. The past few weeks drops were a huge issue and contributed to our loss(es). However, last night it was the Ben Roethlisberger show plain and simple. He was flat out terrible. The man had negative yards passing there for a bit.

Tomlin isn't going anywhere obviously. What ownership doesn't understand and other sports figure this out. Coaches get stale and players even though they don't admit to it will start tuning them out.
