Way to go ESPN you have officially jumped the shark. 2020 strikes one more cruel twisted blow. Why don't you give us a papercut and pour lemon juice all over it.

Speaking of muppets, here's a throwback to the fake muppet song about Troy from years ago. Still love this:

 What the hell happened to ESPN? I remember when I couldn't wait to watch "NFL Primetime" with Chris Berman and Tom Jackson.

Back in the 90s that show was the best.

They added humor to a tough sport!
    1. Humor is no longer allowed in this country.
    2. The tough sport has become pussified.
    3. The kids don't like old men (anyone over 35) on TV.

They decided to make it all about themselves instead of the stuff they were covering/showing. The Berman/Jackson show and 'The Big Show' with Dan and Keith went right to their corporate heads. At that point, schtick became the driving force and it largely still is. It's just kind of mutated to 'we're ESPN and we're so awesome you'll watch us regardless, by the way, here's some sports for you to watch between our personalities.'

Yep, I enjoyed it back then, glad the internet came along so now I'm a click away from all I need and care about. Hell, I miss MNF with Howard Cosell. Great memory for me was Howard and Ali mixing it up. So much fun back in the day.

Yep, Cosell and dandy Don. Cosell was unsufferable at times, but back before you had 35 instant sources, the halftime review of the previous days games was a must see.

Speaking of ESPN, I was so turned on by a young lady in her cheerleader outfit in one of their ads for the channel. She thought ESPN was a word and would cheer it out, "s-pin s-pin rah rah." I still have her on a very old VHS tape, problem being I can't play it anymore since there are no more VHS players and doubt tape would still be good. It was a Steeler highlight reel for a season I can't remember.

There are people who've named their kids Espin.....seriously. There was a story on that a few years ago. The name is, obviously, pronouncing ESPN as a word.

Got to admit, that was pretty funny.

My son didn't grow up with the muppets. I told him maybe next week they'll do the Simpsons.
