I feel like this game deserves its own thread just to see if anyone detects any weaknesses in the Chiefs offense versus a game defense. It won't help the Steelers with seeding win or lose for the Chiefs, but at least you also get a look at a pontential SB contender on the other side even tho Michael Thomas is on IR.

Right now I'm seeing a lot of press coverage from Saints D.

Are teams aware that Mahomes can scramble? Just wondering.

Ohhhh too have a much more mobile QB....a mobile QB opens up so much more of your offense.

While it might be nice, there's a lot to be said for pocket passers too. Brady, Brees, Manning, Ben..... they've all won a few games too!

You saw what Mahomes just did right?? I'm talking timely runs which is needed more often than not in a dink and dunk offense where it's hard for the receivers to get separation. You need a mobile QB who can escape out the pocket and give his receivers time to get open or who can run for a few yards to keep the defense honest.

I saw what he did and Mahomes is special but, you don't NEED a mobile QB. Tampa and NO are doing just fine without.

You seem to be in denial...my guess though is that you would feel much better about the Steelers going far in the playoffs if Ben was much more mobile then a statue who can barely move around with a bad knee?? There's no doubt in my mind the Steelers would be undefeated still if Ben had even 75-80 mobility. By the way, Brees is much more mobile then you appear to give him credit and if not they certainly have a backup who definitely is and is a serviceable QB.

You see they don't dink and dunk and throws farther than 5 yrds? Plus have a running game

But, I'm not talking about Brees' backup. I'm not in denial about anything. A mobile QB would be nice but, is not necessary. Vick was a mobile QB, so was Randall Cunningham, Kordell, JeffGarcia...... How'd they do in the SB?

Not very good but Mahomes, Rodgers and Wilson haven't done too bad. Let's address the fact based upon the style of offense that the Steelers run...would u say a mobile QB or a pocket QB is more effective??

You're right about team sport part...you're wrong if you're comparing the Steelers offense to any offense thats helped win the SB...typically a SB winning offense is highly effecient.

All the top QB's that have come into the NFL are mobile. The days of the true pocket passer are gone. Defences are just too fast to have a guy not able to scramble when needed. I don't think we'll ever again see a top QB sit in the pocket like Manning or Brady. The trend will be the guys who can scramble but also throw darts, like Rodgers, Wilson, Mahomes, Josh Allen, etc.

Perhaps but, for now, there are a couple of very good pocket passers who are still winning a bunch. Hopefully, all the running QBs now fare better than the RGIIIs of the world.

There's running QB's, there's mobile QB's and there's pocket passers. While there are still some of the old guard left, the days of pocket passers coming into the NFL and being top QB's are done. For the most part, any top 5 (or probably even top 10) QB's coming into the league these days will be able to scramble around to evade the rush and take off and run when the situation calls for it. Mahomes, Wilson and Rodgers can all do that and it's part of what makes them so deadly. It's hard to sack those guys because they can outrun the Dline and LB'ers most of the time. Defences are also kept honest because if they drop everyone, the QB will just take off and run.

It's just another tool in the tool box.

I know why teams like mobile QBs and for good reason but, if O lines like ours could block and receivers could hold onto the ball, there's still a place for immobile QBs
