Browns lose so that means the Steelers win the division now with a win against the pathetic Bengals next Monday night. So I think we can finally put to bed all this panic talk of the Browns possibly winning this division. Tonight’s loss by the Browns was the nail in the coffin for that it’s not happening now and should not be brought up again.

It was an extremely entertaining game. Not for lovers of defense.

Justin Tucker is absolute money and is such a weapon. You knew when the Browns scored with 1:04 left they left way too much time on the clock and that if they got it anywhere within 50-55 yards that Tucker was gonna win the game. He is that good and was just not gonna miss with the game on the line.

I wouldn’t assume anything at this point. The offense is that bad right now. The Steelers need to take care of business against the Bengals so they can turn week 17 into a semi-bye week.

They didn't back their way. They earned their way into the playoffs.

The injuries are taking a toll and Ben isn't playing well. This isn't the same team that won 11 games. There is still hope they can play better and make a run.

As bad as the Steelers have performed over the past few weeks it is difficult to imagine the Bengals mustering enough to beat them. I think they seal the division next Monday.

The Colts come to town then and they have been playing really well, very good defence and they seem to be figuring it out on offence with TY Hilton back and Taylor finding his feet in the backfield. Probably another L there

Browns, who knows. If they use it as a mini bye then the Browns will probably stomp them to make a point, leaving the Steelers at 12-4, losing the #2 seed to the Bills.

I hope I am wrong and they add a few wrinkles on offence and go 2-1 over this stretch. Momentum is important going in to the playoffs, you need to be healthy and rolling in December but the Steelers are going in the wrong direction right now with a lot of injuries and players struggling to find the form they had earlier in the season.

This team has one and done written all over it but things can change quickly so we live in hope

Well not really it’s over after last night. The Browns would literally have to win out and finish 12-4 and the Steelers would have to lose out and finish 11-5 and that isn’t happening. The Bengals have been outscored by 74 points their last 5 games they have lost and by 48 points the last 4 games they have lost. They don’t score a lot if at all and they give up a lot of points. This game with the Bengals is as easy of a layup game as you are gonna get if you are the Steelers. It would take just an absolute massive implosion by the Steelers for them to come even remotely close to losing this game.

There is scenario and it’s a very reasonable one where the Browns could miss the playoffs if they finish 10-6 and here it is.

: Ravens win out against the Jags,Giants, and Bengals and finish 11-5

: Colts win against the Texans and Jaguars and lose to the Steelers and finish 11-5.

: Titans win against the Lions and Texans and lose against the Packers and finish 11-5.

: Raiders win out against the Chargers and Dolphins at home and win at Denver and finish 10-6.

: Browns lose against the Giants this week and the final game against the Steelers at home and beat the Jets and finish 10-6

In this scenario the Browns would lose the head to head tiebreaker to the Raiders for that final 7th seed if they both happen to finish at 10-6 based on their head to head loss against the Raiders in Cleveland on November 1st. All the other teams schedules the Browns are competing with are just not that tough and a lot of what I just said has a good chance of happening I think. The key game for the Browns will be this Sunday night against the Giants. If they lose this game it will all most likely come down to the Browns having to beat the Steelers that final week in Cleveland to get in.

So looking at all of this here the Browns better not worry about winning the division they better worry about making the playoffs because as I pointed out here above that is still no guarantee especially if the Browns lose that game against the Giants this week.

Nope division race is over. The Browns losing last night pretty much guarantees they have absolutely close to zero chance of winning this division still. None, zero, zip, zilch.

I'm thinking Browns fans are just excited as hell to make the Playoffs. And except for KC, whom seem a shoe in for the AFCCG anyone of the other 6 teams could be playing them.

Agree 100%...have you actually WATCHED the Steelers play the last couple games? No running game, predictable play calling, crippling injuries, and an aging quarterback don't exactly instill a lot of confidence with me. I get the feeling that Steelers have one of those games where they play down to the level of the opposition on Monday. It will surprise me if they win just ONE of their remaining games; I do remain hopeful that they will.
One and done in the playoffs. That 11-0 start was a LONG time ago.

The typical TOMLIN late season swoon. Not sure why anyone is surprised at this point.

Didn't look like it to me. Hung 42 on the Ravens. Not many teams in the league ever did that before. As much as I hate both teams, I took away the notion that either of them would beat the current state of the Steelers rather easily.

Such optimism after watching the the 2019 Steelers over the past 3 weeks, very impressive. Unfortunately, IMO, this team is very capable of not winning another game. I am not a pessimist, its just that I am not blind and hoping something happens is great but it needs to be based on something to validate it. Last week, before the Bills debacle, our HC stated how important it was to get our running game going and you saw just how much that meant. And that is just one of many areas of piss poor performances that has accumulated unchecked. The Rats have made our winning the division more likely, but still not certain. We're on a 2 game losing steak and in that time we secured a playoff spot and came a step closer to the division title. Not very encouraging at all. Sorry, until we can muster up a win against somebody, I can't get too excited about the current losing streak, division titles, or the playoffs. The game against the Bungles will be indicative of peoples optimism or my eyesight.
