And aren't they the 4th or 5th youngest team in the NFL? I see massive potential and they are missing some playmaker too.

All I know is I'm going to make a fortune betting the under on Steeler games the rest of the way.

 

At this point reality must set in. Those teams will be in the game. The world champs have the easiest schedule and Ravens are hot and were given the rest they were granted. If everyone is truly honest and not over the top optimistic, who else do you seriously pick for the AFC Championship who will be more prepared for a playoff run and are healthy unlike the Steelers. We are completely wiped out.

 

Do they need an extra day? I’d fire him on the way to the locker room. But even if they did, and they won’t, but if they did, would it make a difference? They’d likely promote someone from within and they would just be a token OC and not much would change.

 

I wouldn't go quite that far. They were absolutely horrible on the first two drives of the second half.

That said, yes, the offense is a disaster. It will probably only get worse without Feiler and Dotson.

Roethlisberger is going to say he has to play better and he is right. The drops hurt again tonight. Johnson killed two drives early and Ebron killed one later, but it the two interceptions were killers and those were all on Roethlisberger. Sure, the officials should have flagged Wallace for pass interference on the second one, but it shouldn't have mattered. Roethlisberger had Washington behind everybody and badly underthrew it.

 

Wow Steeler players seem pretty relaxed and happy to play around the tv camera.

 

One of the first series that had some success was when the ran with Ben taking the snap under center then followed it with a weak PA attempt that was good for 1st down and then right back to shotgun spread formation.

 

Agreed. The schedule adjustments screwed the Steelers. They look like a tired football team. That could also be a factor in all the injuries.

This may be it for this group of Steelers. They will likely be some level of rebuilding starting next season. They have a ton of FAs. Will lose Bud and Juju in the group of exiting players.

I guess my biggest beef is the inconsistency on the call. He did make a play on the ball but i remember years where that would be called in impeding the route.

When teams see the spread and have looked at tape they usually press and the line and force guys to hand fight into the second level which by that time means pass protection breaking down and Ben looks to check. Ben is no threat to scramble so they just clog it up. I have seen him scramble and throw in a while.
