La Canfora is reporting there are serious concerns about his knee within the organization yet Ben has not carried any injury reports about it and practiced in full Thursday and Friday.

Oy. All we can really do is hope he is able to play through it. If his season ends early, the Steelers’ season goes with him. I can’t help but wonder if they should have just sat him this week.

La Canfora has been wrong before.

If his knee really is a concern, they should dress Dobbs, just in case.

I stopped reading after he got DJ's name wrong. If you can't bother to proof read then I give zero flucks about your information Jason.

I haven’t seen anything by the local beat writers about this. I put way more stock into their reporting over these national guys.

Hopefully La Canfora is wrong on this.

I don't doubt La Canfora's reporting. I just wonder who it is coming from in the organization. It sounds like the concern is more that the knee is limiting him than a threat to take him out of the lineup. I think if the Steelers lose tonight, but clinch the AFC North before Week 17, he needs to at least sit out that game against Cleveland.

This would explain why he has become even more reliant on the short passing game. The lack of mobility can impact the run, with Roethlisberger not moving and getting the ball into the hands of his running backs quickly enough. It also impact the play-action game.

So far we've seen that La Canfora got this wrong, La Canfora was wrong to report it, and the local media is in the pocket of the organization.

Some of y'all have some funny ideas about the media.

La Canfora didn't just throw this against the wall. I'm absolutely certainly someone within the organization told him that. They could be overstating the problem, but I don't doubt that they are concerned.

La Canfora wasn't wrong to report it. That's his job. The Steelers are high profile. Roethlisberger is high profile. The team is 11-1 and about to play in prime time. The concern over Roethlisberger's knee is news.

There is nothing I can post that will get some people to be reasonable in their takes on the local media in Pittsburgh.

Say what you will about the national guys. But if a story breaks about the Steelers, the national guys break it. The local guys just parrot it.

I don't understand it. There are prob 30 local media guys, between the PG, the Trib, local TV and talk radio. And these guys almost never break a story that hasn't gone national first.

Reporters get things wrong, sources can be wrong. I’ve seen Rappaport get his share of things wrong.

Beat reporters usually have a better bead on the team, so much so they seem to resent national reporters for putting things like that out there. I’ve seen Fittipaldo make snide comments about national reporters.

I think this is 100% right. Don't rock the boat, keep your cushy access and local prestige.

I have been saying since the beginning of the season Bens lack of mobility is concerning. He is literally hobbling around the field and in the pocket. His control of the offense and short to moderate throws have been just fine but his deep balls are off and can’t really extend plays anymore. At best he has one more season. Hopefully TOMLIN disappears with him.

The media isn't the news. I'm sure Ben is hurting. He didn't practice last week and very little the week before. Ben doesn't play well when he doesn't practice for the most part. He did get at least two days this week so I don't expect it's as bad as most think of he would have gotten at least one of those days off. We shall see but Ben is up there in age and has taken a beating while BA was here.

His throws look to support some knee problems IMO ..We all seen him limp off so we know he banged it up ..Is he having problems with inflamtion ? If he is then I am sure the Team is very concerned..Thats why Dobbs should have had a hat the entire time and a package we could have been using in short yarage the entire season.. Hurts is beating the Saints with his legs and a few good throws Dobbs showed in pre season games seasons ago he could do the same, he showed it in practice from all camp reports and Coach T said he didn't want him to do it..If Ben goes down the abilty of Dobbs to run is the only chance this Team would have..

We know his knees are sore, saw him get hurt in the Dallas game, the question is how severe?

Logged two full practices this week so I’m hoping this story is overblown.
