They lost this game for many reasons. One of them was the absence of one of the defense's best playmakers and the ineffectiveness of his replacement.

The Spillane injury was a big factor, too. Tomlin talked about the communication breaking down due to the injuries. That is all about losing Spillane.

By the way, all Tomlin had to say about the injury was that Spillane's knee is being evaluated. Also, Haden does have a concussion.

We lost the game mainly because we have literally no running game. Not saying there aren't other issues but that one takes the prize.
A team cannot be THAT one-dimensional and expect to win consistently, and let's be honest, a result like this has been on the cards for weeks.
It's been a good run, now we get to see the reaction.

I'll have to disagree with your innuendo my brother. Can't win the argument so attack the poster strategy, brilliant.

I can't be said enough how big the return of James Conner off the COVID list is as well.

did we get a new offensive line as well? If they don't block it doesn't matter if connor is back or not.

Having Nelson as a full participant is huge. Hopefully he doesn't tweak anything. If we can get Haden and Pouncey back, I'll feel pretty good about Sunday night.

Actually, I presented ample evidence on multiple threads. You simply refuse to see reason.

It is great to see Nelson practicing, but the ongoing absence of Boswell is a huge concern. Wright may have made his attempts, but there is no doubt the Steelers kick the field goal rather than go on fourth-and-one in the fourth quarter Monday. It is also very likely Boswell would have converted to give them back the lead. Maybe Washington still gets a field goal to tie and Roethlisberger still has that pass tipped for an interception, but those are far from sure things.

I see Dupree on the sideline watching the Steelers maintain their sacks & qb pressures. Yeah, he won't have anymore meanwhile the Steelers are getting to the qb.

You do realize the other team is a factor in the pressure a defense gets on the quarterback, right? You are ignoring some of the variables in service to a poor argument.

Looks like the Steelers have the Dupree loss covered so far. What Scribe theory of "I'm right your wrong" am i missing?

THIS right here! I've been hammered by some on here for giving JC ANY praise, but since going out, the running game has been non-existent! Conner gives this offense a viable threat running the ball that the defense has to respect and keeps them honest. Snell doesn't do this! Even if Conner doesn't rush for 100 yards, he is able to get chunks. Does anyone honestly think that inside the 1 that Conner would have been stuffed every time like Snell was? Snell is a good change of pace back, but only works if Conner is in there.

I'm with Scribe, don't think we see Haden this week.

I think we are okay with Sutton and Nelson. Layne was awful. I'll keep a light on for Joe Haden until Sunday, to be Tomlinesc about it.

People won't admit it but Conner has historically been very good within the red zone. I think folks will be shocked at how much more "on track" Pittsburgh looks this week. And honestly, given JC's injury history, his hiatus isn't the worst for Pittsburgh...

They got no pressures, quarterback hits from their weakside edge and they lost their first game of the season. You have a funny concept of having it covered.
