Big Ben's Batted Balls

Anyone notice how frequently Big Ben's passes get swatted/deflected at the LOS? Isn't he one of the tallest QBs in the league? How is it that he has more batted balls than midget QBs like Baker Mayfield, Russell Wilson or Drew Brees?

I find it puzzling that someone who is almost 6'6 has 3-4 passes knocked down at the line every game.

 

Less arc on short passes. Washington went after him big time last night and it worked for them. Others will have taken note.

 

I read the DC players were more focused on watching Bens eyes and going for the deflection than they were sacking him. Since they didn't blitz at all in the 1st half, that makes me think this is valid. They did more damage batting the ball down then sacking Ben and it was successful. I was hoping for a miracle at the end before another deflection sealed the L.

 

Ben's release looks REALLY slow. I think his elbow is trashed. They keep talking about how quickly he's getting the ball out, but that's snap-to-pass. I'd like to see the numbers on his mechanics. He's also throwing a lot more side-armed (or maybe it's my confirmation bias).

Don't forget his atrocious percentage on deep passes and all the misses to wide open deep receivers this season.

Easy to do when they don't have to worry about a running game.

 

The ball isn’t going to have too much lift when we only throw it 3 past the line of scrimmage.

 

Bens balls of lately have no HANG time therefore his balls get batted!!!

 

Taller qb's need less arc, common sense unless your trolling.

Its definitely hurting him. 4th quarter rubbing it on the sideline. Throwing 40 to 50 times a game lately is not helping.
