This loss just highlighted some major issues that we've been getting away with... lack of running game..
dink and dunk offense...…… it's nice sometimes to have a quick strike offense, but when that's all you have, then there's a problem...….. the offense is way too predictable and it's catching up to us.....
this is my short list of things that need to happen if we don't want the season to get away from us.

    1. Start Dotson at LG and move Feiler back to RT: chuks is a good pass blocker, but he's far too overmatched to handle run blocking duties...…. Dotson has shown what he can do in the run game, and is a far more advanced pass blocker than expected and Feiler is better on the outside

    2. Get Derek Watt in the game more often: I have no idea why the team would sign a pro bowl FB and proceed to not incorporate him in more than 5 percent of the offense... not only would it give the rb's an extra blocker, it would also give the offense the actual short yardage target we need instead of constant bubble screens and dink and dunk passes and allow the weapons we have at wr to roam

    3. more double te sets: I don't know if Vance Mcdonald insulted mr Rooney or Mike Tomlin's wives, but he seems to have completely fallen out of favor in the offense...… he's barely out there as a blocker, but he has shown in the past to be a field stretcher and is a far superior blocker to Ebron…. if you have bullets in the clip, then you have to fire them

    4. For God's sake, throw the damn ball downfield!!!!: I love JuJu's hard nosed running on his short receptions, but this is getting ridiculous...….. get him downfield and let him fight.... for that matter, get James Washington out there...… all he does is produce... he was unstoppable in the first half against Washington and barely got on the field in the 2nd...… and get Chase downfield where he can use his obvious size advantage ……. seems like most times that we throw downfield to chase, he either makes a great play or draws a PI against an overmatched defender...…. not seeing nearly enough of this

and yes, all my changes are on the offensive side of the ball..... we wouldn't be seeing anywhere near the plays against the defense if they weren't taxed to death by the offenses inneptitude

How about some actual designed goal line running plays? Anyone remember that when we brought Mondeaux in as a lead blocker and he blasted a defender out of the hole for an easy TD? Or how about (in addition to using D. Watt) bringing that extra lineman/TE in motion towards the middle and have him down block while D. Watt hits the hole ahead of the RB to push back the LB who’s filling. Make holes. Oh... and how about a QB sneak once in a blue moon. Tom Brady can do it, but Big Ben can’t?

Sadly I don't see many answers for the Steelers. Seems like they are on a slowly sinking ship.

I guess I would say if you want a short pass offense you need to be efficient. If guys aren't catching passes on a regular basis ... get them off the filed.

Ebron, Diontae Johnson, and Claypool are culprits.

1 - Self scout n someone be the adult in the room and corral the dink n dunk

Also self scout def n see where predictable there too

This should be happening weekly, but....

2 - intermediate passing game, have someone Google it. It's pretty good compliment to your game....

3 insert Dotson into lg Fieler to run have Chuks on speed dial. Fieler is doing nothing at G. Pass pro.is ok, but zero.push

    4 Get n stay healthy

I agree with every bit of this. I was just joining this thread to suggest the same thing about the offensive line. Okorafor is getting pushed around. He is absolutely terrible in the run game. Feiler is better at tackle and Dotson has proven that he can play. It's time to make the switch up front and at least try to regain some semblance of a running game.

I'm not sure how much Watt can help, but McDonald needs to be involved in the offense. He can't match Ebron's athleticism, but the drops are just killing that offense. Johnson had two more clang off his hands, and Smith-Schuster killed a drive with a drop early on.

We're not done losing. Code is broken on how to shut our run game down and we've seen this the last few games. I am starting to come to the realization that the Stains may end up as Div winners. What a pathetic excuse for a game.

I went into this one thinking if they lose one, this would be the best time for it to happen because they would still hold the top seed. Now I am very concerned about the team going forward. The offense looks like a mess and injuries are absolutely ravaging the defense.

if gunslinging means 3-5 yard passes then I question the size of the gun

Another thing that needs to change is Butler has to realize Highsmith isn't even close to Dupree. The Steelers were burned while rushing only four quite a few times on third down, including the 29-yard pass that set up the game-winning field goal.

Not sure if they can do it this year, but this would be a good time to break out the padded practice and "reLearn" how to run block.

I was the exact opposite...I thought there was no way the Steelers would lose to a team that had lost by at least two touchdowns to every winning team they had played up to this point and lost to a Detroit Lions team just 3 weeks ago...I was only hoping that they would be able to get out of this game healthy, because I knew losing key people was eventually going to catch up to them and so essentially it did tonight. It's a daunting realization moving forward that this 11-0 stretch is as good as this season gets for them...I mean where do you get a running game 12 games in?? That's the only thing that can help right this sinking ship, but they can't figure out how to do it.

Guess you haven't checked qb pressures this year. Not much changed in this game. Feel free to call me out if it does. Sack total was pretty much on par...hhhmmm. Yes Dupree could have had 2 or 3 against a qb that handles pressure better than most. It wasn't to be. Time to move on & realize that we can make up for the loss with our scheme, Highsmith being a part of it. In conclusion I'm not convinced that we win the game with the ghost of Dupree on the field leaving havoc in his wake.

Put the ghost of Bush back on the field, is he the game changer? Sorry but the hypotheticals just don't win any games.

Outside of Ben's 5k yard season, he played his best under Haley. But, we also had L.Bell in his prime.
