Numbers are spiking everywhere as the weather gets colder people spend more time indoors, holidays with family and friends creates a higher risk as well.

Hate to point out the obvious but maybe 40% don't really even believe it's real.

Maybe people are numb to death, very soon the numbers will pass 300,000 that's six times the lives lost in the Vietnam war.

All that has happened in 12 months not 12 years.

I might disagree with that 40% number. I think most know it's real but feel it's overrated. I know many people who don't trust the numbers. I also know many who believe in the herd immunity thing. For 200,000 thousands years our species has faced junk like this and our immune systems adapted. Yeah I know people will die but that is what all species do.

I am not saying that is my opinion, it's just what I'm hearing a lot. One thing I do know this situation is ruining millions of lives financially. Trust me I'm seeing it in my family.

 

When its finally over there will be two kinds of casualties the people who died from it and the businesses that could not hold on through multiple lockdowns.

 

I find it hard to believe anyone thinks it’s fake at this point I mean come on. I do think many people under 60 or 50 years old look at the statistics and realize it’s a similar threat as driving a car. It’s a really ****ty situation because at some point we will all hopefully be 70/80 years old and I certainly wouldn’t want to be a casualty.

 

Very true. Sad sad times. My kids are 6 and 4 and pretty much missed out on a regular summer last year. No parks no fairs just swimming and playing in the backyard and our trips to the lake. Minor problems compared to what so many are going through but if this continues into next summer these kids could be looking at years lost in youth that you can never get back. Not to mention the issue with education and this virtual substitute.

I golf with a few guys in their 80's. (just amazing IMO) I'm always asking them if they want me to wear a mask or stay far away but they don't seem to give a ****. I like what one of them said to me the other day, "I'm 81 and the way I see it, I won".

 

Id say if you make it to 80 in reasonable health and finances you have definitely won the rat race. With that being said the human spirit is one that normally doesn’t give up so he might say that but deep down I’m sure he feels differently. Not sure many are ready to go at any point, even though inevitably we all will.
