Ravens amount of prep time should not factor into this. IMO

Harbaugh will say or do whatever it takes so the game is not played this week because it benefits them. The least Goodell could do is decide the Ratbirds cannot benefit from an 18th week/extra playoff game. In other words he should penalize them by saying they are ineligible for the 8th seed should it happen because of their wrongdoing. That is the LEAST he could do. He needs to say it NOW.

I would imagine NFL can't make any decisions until the Ravens come back with zero positives. I was thinking just bump the game to Tuesday night and Ravens' game against Cowboys (Thursday) to Sunday but you can't even make that adjustment at this point.

One 'good' thing I suppose is Steelers have a good deal of healing time this week considering, to me, this game isn't going to happen. In a sense, they get a break that other teams did not (this late in season).

The bad, they lose a bye first round (if they get 1st seed). The one thing the NFL can't do is crush the level playing field and have just the Steelers and Ravens play week 18 and the rest of the league off. That would be a TERRIBLE look.

I do feel for the NFL. Think of the pressure and obstacles they are dealing with. No matter what, I'm still going to root the team on. If it's fate then it doesn't matter. Saying that, F$$K the Ravens.

Agreed Titans had none or little and WON vs. Bill's

PFT tweeted NFL has not told Harbaugh that or made decision yet n is premature at best incorrect at worst

I do not get the week 18 scene as that is actually the week for the wild card games. The only way this happens is to eliminate the pro bowl (likely) move all the po's a week and eliminate the bye week for the super bowl. I understand the 'bend with wind' cap during this time, but we bent once and lost our bye. The league changed things and made the protocol more strict and threatened forfeits...this is the time to put up or stfu...forever.

I find it hard to believe the NFL will go the forfeit route. I think more rescheduling is likely.

The problem with forfeiting beyond lost revenue for the league, is 1/16th lost revenue for players. If they do not play they do not get paid...so the union will definitely have words for this.

I agree but the NFL shouldn't have warned teams that they might forfeit if it's not going to follow through.

I agree, but I dont expect Goodell to follow through. To me it just seems like an empty threat. At the end of the day the NFL is all about revenue. A forfeited game is lost revenue.

With that warning the league sent out, they have to forfeit. What would stop anyone else from breaking protocol if they know there is no consequences for not following the rules.

And as unlikely as this is, if there are no more positive tests between now and Sunday, they could still play the game. Tell the Ravens play without practice and short several players or forfeit.

It's actually not about the Steelers. It's about his hard-on for his brand and whoever the media's darling is. The Brady-led Pats were the darling for a number of years and now the Chiefs are.

If they move this game from Sunday, the players who have tested positive should not be allowed to play. Allowing Jackson and the other 8 or so players to suit up gives them a pass on the problem they caused.

Pats played without Cam, Rats can play without Lamar. Tomorrow is the key. Should no other members test positive, than they should have it contained. If they haven’t been there all week, they shouldn’t be continuing to spread it. If Friday’s tests are good, then they can play the game. If positive tests continue, maybe they start by pushing back to Monday, Tuesday at latest. Have to believe the NFL wants this game this week, not week 18.
