Alright, ladies and gentlemen, I want to start a thread dedicated to Coach Tomlin. We're all tough on the guy, and he has had his fair share of blunders, but he's very clearly one of the best in the game and is a driving factor behind this team's success. His blueprints are all over this year's squad.

If you come here to give me a "very optimistic" rating or to say Tomlin is "OK," then please delete your account :)

Here are a few great videos praising Tomlin:

    Tomlin is "OK"

Sorry, but you asked for it.

I'm a curmudgeon. I'm not easily impressed. I'm also not a fan of Mike Tomlin, as a coach. I think he's a great guy, family man, etc. I wish him nothing but the best in life.

But since you want positives here, I'll give mine...begrudgingly.

He has navigated the past two god-awful seasons admirably. He kept the team together last season without Ben. And he has done the unimaginable this season so far. I will always point the finger at the HC first when we underperform. So it's only fair to give him credit for us accomplishing something very special. Our undefeated record is his to own. And he has done something with this team this season that he has never done before, he has got them winning games they SHOULD win. All of them.

And to do that in 2020 is remarkable. Kudos to Mike for the winning product he and his coaching staff have put on the field this season.

Conspiracy theory - I still maintain that the man along the sidelines behind the mask this year is not MT. Otherwise, how could all the experts on this MB be so wrong? :hmm:

We have 3 vastly underrated people in the Steelers organization.

Kevin Colbert, Mike Tomlin, and Big Ben

The 3 really aren't given the due diligence on how good they are and how well they have made the organization be at least a competitive minimum or Champion Maximum the last 17-20 years.

As far as Tomlin he turned the corner a lot last year, most teams would of folded at a 1-4 record with their franchise QB down for the season, but he got them to 8-5 before it didn't end so well, and the lack of a QB really became exposed and the defense could no longer carry the team.

Less coaches would of lost their team, but he didn't let that happen.

Let’s wait to see how far they go in the playoffs.

I’m a supporter, save for sarcasm, of both MT and BR. But it’s time to win in the playoffs.

Not a fan of Tomlin and never really had respect for him until last year when he went 8-6 with Devlin Hodges and Mason Rudolph as his QBs and now a 9-0 start this year.. Never really saw him without a hall of fame QB until last year and for him to almost make the playoffs with those 2 scrubs I def have respect for him now.. Still would take cowher over him tho but he's def earned my respect

TOMLIN will have to prove all the naysayers wrong come playoff time when it actually matters. He’s always been good in the regular season.

I don't know which angered me more as a Steelers fan... the AFC Championship Game of January 1995 vs. Chargers along with 3 other AFC Championship losses under Cowher... or the entire wasted 2010's decade under Tomlin with HOF QB, All Pro RB and All Pro WR for 4 of those years. Both are horrific and have scarred me for life.

Seems to me the Pats had a pretty frustrating loss at the end of ‘07 season, then again in 11, 12, 13, 15, & 19.

How are those any different than what upsets you about the Steelers?

Not sure what your Against the Rules means above but this is essentially what I was trying to say (but didn't use green font). With as many MT naysayers in these parts, no way that can be him on the sidelines. Right? It's been a hell of a run so far this season and how could all these brain-dead coaches have gotten so smart all of a sudden. Ben's return has solved the O but how did the D and Special Teams gel all of a sudden? Another of life's strange mysteries. I'm of the opinion of don't ask-don't tell and just enjoy the ride. :steelflag:

I have changed my opinion of Tomlin after 2019 and 2020. 2019 was a good run without his franchise QB. 8-6 is damn impressive record with backup QB by committee. Last 3 losses were not surprising, but loss to the Jets was disappointing. I still think if Rudolph wasn't hurt in Ravens game... Steelers would have been 9-7 or 10-6. 2020 surpasses Noll and Cowher for start of season. The jury is still out on Tomlin. I'm not excusing his 2010's underachieving decade... just as I don't excuse Cowher for losing 4 AFC Championship games.

I will give him a ton more love when he upgrades the assistant coaches on this team.

Yep. Cowher and Tomlin are more similar than a lot of people think.

BC had more dribble and MT more drivel. But aside from that, Steeler Nation has been spoiled with perennially great teams. Who else would you rather be a fan of? Thank you Steelers! :yeehaw:

It's what the Pats did between those losses that's upsetting (to me, anyway).
